To be fair I had gallstones a few years back and a friend of ours who’s had three kids naturally confirmed having also had gallstones that she’d rather give birth again.

In Berlin, Hertha are away, it's easier to get Oasis tickets than for Union Berlin who are the only team at home that day. Fortuna Dusseldorf are away, Schalke are playing on the 23rd against another nearby team, Bochum. Other than Hertha there is no Bundesliga 2 or 3 Liga team anywhere near Berlin, except Magdeburg, who are away... 

We went to Dusseldorf a year or so back, midday flight from London City got cancelled and we were put on the 15.30 one. We were going to see Fortune that evening but arrived too late to get there.

We managed to get tickets for a Cologne game the following day, Cologne less than an hour by train, turned out ok. 5 of us in the away end with the Augsberg fans. The other 3 in the home end where there quite a whiff of a certain substance. 

Re the Open, been watching Sky last couple of days, are Lowry and McIlroy the only two golfers taking part?

its all just a Machiavellian ploy so you eventually end up paying for implants.

I think you'll find that if you ask for chips at the Valley, you will be well satisfied by the small portion size (you certainly won't be throwing any away), and you will certainly pay extra for the privilege.

I have often wondered over the years, and I realise I am speaking from a position of ignorance, what is the regulation on dentists? What is the audit?
What checks are in place to guarantee that the work they are telling you is needed, is in fact needed?
I mean, financially it is in their interest to find that work is needed on our teeth.
I speak as an ageing cynic who has a mouthful of fillings on a repeated cycle, often the same teeth on consecutive visits.
I have been told by more than one dentist that I grind my teeth and/or my bite "is too hard".
I have always felt aggrieved because I have always looked after my teeth, never fail to brush morning and night even, as a younger man, when I came in blind drunk.
Never had a high sugar diet.
In fact I have been convinced for years that there is a genetic or other factor that is as significant as diet.
Case in point being my wife and her sister who grew up on the same diet as kids, but by adulthood my sister-in-law had a mouthfull of fillings and my wife had none at all.
Anyway, fcuk dentists

My sister and I have genetics to thank or not for our teeth. One of my grand fathers, back in 2003,  was buried at an age of 88 with virtually all his natural teeth. The other grand parents all had false teeth like so many of their generation. Our mother who died a few months ago, aged 87, had strong teeth, like her father also ended her days with a near full set but not the best looking, braces would of probably been fitted she had been born later. Our dad had more gaps than teeth and must have paid a small fortune to his dentist, eating apples was a struggle. My sister has always tried to looked after her teeth, I doubt anyone could have tried harder. Her teeth although perfectly straight, white and good looking just seem to crumble. Me, 62 years old a full set including four wisdom teeth no gaps and straight. I have a few fillings, a couple of crowns but otherwise not in a bad state  of repair for someone who as a child was not the best with dental hygiene. I think its luck of the draw like so many other thins in life especially health.
I go to the dentist every six months for check up and every six months to the hygienist. I have had Denplan policy for about 25 years, may be more. Its not cheap, about £60/month but I think on balance it has been worth the cost. Back in the early 90's my dentist in Petts Wood stopped doing NHS work and talked me into taking out a plan. I guess this is a way of making money.

So an update, dentist advised me to call every day at 9am as they might have cancellations. Bang on 9am since Monday I’ve been calling and told every day ‘sorry but no’. 

Ended up calling 111 yesterday and they gave me a number for a line that can possibly find me an emergency appointment. They told me they’d found a couple for yesterday at midday and 3pm, took the later one and asked the address, it was my fucking dentists!!  

They get paid more for 111 referrals.

Thing is the emergency appointment was NHS anyway. 

People that think flip flops that they’ve worn through the car park and doubtless most of the rest of the day aren’t outdoor shoes. 

Beckenham Spa used to provide plastic shoe covers for the swimming pool side changing rooms. Not sure if they do now as there's a box with them in to sell.

Are you suggesting some sort of lobby outside the changing room to change your footwear before entering the changing room?

im not sure how practical that is. 

I don’t see many people wearing outdoor shoes around the swimming pool area ie post getting changed. But I do agree some seem to think flip flops worn outside of the pool environment are ok when clearly they are not. 

Effectively there is one. The front part of the changing room has benches to sit and change your shoes, or as is the case from the other comments above slip some shoe covers on. The massive signs saying no outdoor shoes begin after this bit.
