@ElfsborgAddick - I’m sure living in Brazil is amazing on so many levels, but the pubs look absolutely shocking!

I normally have one in here when I have missed my bus ;)
    Is that a Weatherspoons?

There is no chance of any of the City pubs shutting down if this weather keeps up.  I've been past the Grapes three times today... every time its heaving.  Who still has a job in the City that can go out and quaff pints for 3 hours at a time?  Everyone says that that behaviour is in the past in the City these days... it isn't around here!

the City is still alive and well - Tues to Thurs anyway - all the pubs heaving these days
Think the City is almost 7 days a week now! Was in Leadenhall Market a few weeks ago - was heaving, New Moon was packed.
New moon is printing money and Feeneys, which I know a few posters on here patronise, have three locations now and serve the best guiness in London IMO.
Nancy Spain is opening a new bar in Fenchurch St, they will be selling Murphy’s. Beamish can now be found at Gibney’s in Old St.
Nancy’s been there a while mate, at least six months on the site of the old wine lodge. Think they may only have the upstairs but may be wrong. The Murphy’s is insane.
I’m about to complete the holy trinity of gibneys as I’m in NYC at the moment and have been to malahide and old street venues 👍

I thought it had opened, when past there on Saturday and was closed for a refurb. Had a few in Feeney’s watching the rugby.

The golden goose in Leadenhall seems to be making a killing also. Worst bar to get served I've seen in many a year!
  • Cock and Woolpack has been heaving this year as well.

Yes, the toilets are on the top floor of the tower on the right.

I can pretty frequently be found in the New Moon at lunchtimes, great place to people watch with a pint

Had to giggle at the new food stall outside the Red Lion on Shooters Hill.
(couldn’t find the thread about comical business names).

wonder if you have to prove your age now?
Anyone tried fitting their face in the outline they give you one those age verification sites, while balancing the laptop on your lap, a handful of tissue in one hand and something else in the other.

    Which sites might they be?

Used to work directly opposite Feeney's, have to admit i was a bit cynical when I saw it turning in to a bar as the building had changed hands a lot and no business ever stayed longer than 2 years it seemed. I went in a few months back and was pleasantly surprised. Good drinks, atmosphere and even had a spice bag.

In the early 90's this was known as the Tool and Tampon
  • @guinnessaddick As mentioned it ahs been opened since November i think.  I only noticed it myself a month ago and I work opposite! I made the mistake of going in there late one Thursday night.  I was at least 30 years older than most in there so wont be returning at that time of night ever again.

They’ve closed for a refurb, which seems odd given they’ve only recently opened.  Saying they’ll be back open at the end of August.

Maybe we need a Charlton Irish session in there to bring the average age up a few years and make you feel a bit more comfortable when it’s back again 😉 ☘️
