  • Did a bit of sleuthing on Dane Murphy. Apparently as part of joining us as CEO he’d have to give up his role as ‘chairman of the supervisory board’ and sell his shares at Vitesse. Yesterday afternoon a Vitesse fan page on Twitter posted that he had sold his shares to their main shareholders. Surely this would indicate that the path has been cleared for him to join rather than it falling through.
GREAT ! there is a forum for this if anyone is interested - i'd rather keep this page for transfer rumours and celebrations of the great signings we have

    Bet you’re fun at parties
    Absolutely...I bring my twister set
And a bottle of baby oil, fastest room emptier ever.
Argh SO that's why Kanye needed all that baby oil - JEEZ LOUISE - this forum is so educational

We have had more than enough good news to keep us going, if the sensitive issue is relating to Redmidland then so be it.

Football matters can be parked for 24 hours and let Reds family and friends have some privacy.

Not wishing to stand on anyone toes but I was advised a young player sadly passed away yestrday and that may put a slight hold on things. Expecting the club to announce something and release some kind of statement today. Hence the sensitivity part.
Oh shit... That's terrible... Thoughts with his family

I can’t see why the CEO news would stop us announcing Knibbs.
Get that out of the way this morning and then positive news late afternoon.
what will be will be though.

If just about issues with a CEO and not more serious news then in most organisations it's a case of bury the bad news. Which isn't just a political manoeuvre 🤷🏼‍♂️

Christ, that's very very sad indeed.
Yes and it's far more important than transfer updates. They can wait.

Yes and if the rumours are true about a young player dying can you stop these stupid comments for a while and have some respect.

Am I missing something here, who gives a toss if the new CEO has changed his mind, we haven’t had a decent one for ages and we are doing okay. I am sure our new owners will find another one

I hadn’t seen the post or comment about the young player at the time. It wasn’t my intention to be insensitive.

Same as Mr Burns, and agree with Henry.

When there is an official announcement of a death, then we can all show respect.
Let's try not to slag off posters until an official statement is made.

That really puts everything into stark perspective. New player signings are exciting, but the loss of a player takes the wind out of all of us.

Probably a useful lesson here in not having pages and pages of speculation when something like that is posted in future

It's always going to happen though. Probably would've been better not to post anything despite good intentions.

Something about Luke Berry? There has been no sign of him has there? Or really a mention?
He was clearly seen on tour training with the weights and we been told like Godden tweaked a muscle

As well intentioned as it was, if you post something cryptic in a rumours thread people will always try to work out what the poster is alluding to. In reality, there's no reason for the heads up as any discussion of announcing signings will stop if the club shares something serious

The fact that the words "sensitivity" have been used can only IMHO be due to Redmidlands ashes & service, nothing else would fit, even a proposed CEO not joining, thats not sensitive, thats just news.
    With the greatest of respect,why?
As Henry said, the spreading of supporters ashes is an almost daily occurrence.
Just seen the above post, and very sad if true

Club have already tweeted about the game tonight this morning, so imagine that it’s on.

We have binned off Dane Murphy apparently. That’s the announcement tomorrow
"The appointment is subject to the completion of the EFL Owners and Directors’ Test and the appropriate documentation."

    Maybe relevant if so?
He not been able to sell his shares in another club which means he can’t past the EFL tests …. Not sure this is sensitive news or how it stops a player announcement ?
    He’s…😂🤭👊

It's always likely to happen but it doesn't have to, we can all control our response to something like this. Hopefully if something like this pops up next time people might remember this and just just not post. Not every thought has to be shared. I do agree that it's best not to post something so cryptic though, doesn't serve any positive purpose; the moment any sad news was posted we would have understood a transfer delay.

Maybe because of why he can’t sell them.
    All looking very messy.
I’m not sure if having shares in another club abroad impacts the director test. I’d be shocked if it’s Murphy as I’m sure the club would have done its own due diligence on the situation.

Thinking about it, it might have something to do with the possibility of clubs playing in international cup competitions.

Apologies, I see this has already been mentioned and discussed earlier in the thread.🫢

Good to think ahead, we don’t want issues playing in Europe next season after we win the FA Cup.
