Who is this mo rivzi?!? Has to be signed up for the one day cup surely ? Looks like someones uncle on stream but god is he returning amazing figures
He's 27 now and played age group cricket for Middlesex. He first turned out for our 2nd XI some six years ago and has played for any number of other county 2s as well as Loughborough, Hertfordshire and the South Asian Cricket Academy. No county carries more than a couple of frontline spinners these days and for that reason it must be incredibly hard to secure a contract with one. He's certainly given it a go.
As for the one day cup, I'm not sure that we would play him and Parkinson. Equally, Jaydn will be in the side as would Joe, if fit, so that would mean four players turning the ball the same way.

Rivzi was also the not out batter in the first innings (73*) and is currently on 32* in the second so he can bat too.

Leaning's ongoing struggles continue with 27 (34) & 9 (38) in this match. Meanwhile Rivzi was on 66* (87) before rain intervened.
Glamorgan 2s 253-9 (effectively all out as one batter was absent). Mo Rivzi returned for Kent 21.5-2-90-7
Rivzi, ironically, has split his time this season between playing for both Glamorgan and Kent 2s
In Kent 2s current match against Warwickshire, Rivzi has returned combined figures for both innings of 48.5-6-163-9 meaning 16 wickets at 15.81 of the last 30 wickets we've taken.
So, Rivzi took 9-163 in the match with 73* in the first innings and 100* in the second to take us home by 1 wicket. Would be really surprised if we don't sign him by the end of the season.
Apologies if I have missed this but there is a rumour that Sam Northeast might be returning to Kent. Anyone know anything?
It's been a persistent rumour for some time.
He'll be 36 in October - which looks a tad old to be re-building your side around. But I was looking at the case for signing him, Kent desperately need a bit of middle order ballast while a few players like Ekansh Singh, Jaydn Denly and Ben Dawkins - the next-gen batsmen establish themselves. Dawkins is making his FC Kent debut in this match but has played recently for England in a Youth Test against India and scored a hundred, Ekansh Singh also scored a hundred in the same match.
If there's one positive to Kent's season it's that they might as well blood these younger players, but it also means putting a lot of faith in three 19 year old kids who have less than ten FC matches between them, having someone like Sam Northeast around for a couple of seasons makes sense.
