  • 386-9 (92) at close and 3 bowling points.

Parkinson finishes with what are still his best career figures of 27-4-104-7
  • Might be a bit tricky batting against Rehan Ahmed tomorrow
  • This has been hilarious viewing this morning. Absolutely clueless stuff

The good news is that you'll be able to watch your mob next season playing us. Which begs the question why you are watching us instead of them?

Did you see what happened to us last game? Hard to stay invested in a season after that. I'll watch whatever I think the most interesting cricket is, and if that is Kent playing like idiots against a last wicket pair, so be it
  • Leuth I must admit Usama Mir is a good signing from your lot especially with him being a domestic from 2027.
  • You just know we'll be bowled out for 180
  • This is beyond embarrassing. Cannot wait for the season to be over

I didn't see what happened to Worcestershire but have now reviewed the game. Always good viewing when you lose from a winning position to your nearest rivals.
  • The hundred 10th wicket partnership takes Leics to 464-9

  • 10th wicket stand of nearly 100 (and still going)! What the hell are we bowling to them! Very embarrassing. This has heavy defeat written all over it.

    Edit: Now over 100!
  • Evison has Scriven LBW for 99. That would have been his maiden FC century.

    471-10 (114.5)

  • Hope our three youngsters use this opportunity to occupy the crease and as a learning curve.
  • Scriven (number 10) out for career best 99. Last wicket stand of 108. We need a very strong batting display now. To make matters worse, we put them in to bat! I think that may have been an error of judgement.

Ben Stokes texted him to say he should have declared on 95, as the result is more important than personal milestones.
  • Here we go. Now let's get some decent batting points at least! It's a good job there is no relegation to Minor Counties otherwise we would be in big trouble. This is a real low point for Kent.
  • This is the list of those contracted players missing today for one reason or another - 15 in total and that's not including Stewart who might play no further part in the game:

    Crawley (England)
    Benjamin (injured)
    Joe Denly (injured)
    DBD (injured)
Leaning (not selected - totally out of form)
    Billings (white ball)
O'Riordan (not selected - out all season and the signs are that he will be released)
Flintoff (not selected - a way from first team action)
    Dudgeon (injured)
Gilchrist (not selected - off to Warwickshire)
Cohen (not ready after being injured for two years)
Quinn (not selected - rested following a long term out injured)
Kashif Ali (not selected due to being a somewhat disappointing overseas)
    Jas Singh (injured)
    Klaassen (white ball)

  • 18-0 (5) at lunch

    Compton 14* (17)
    Jaydn 4* (13)
  • Well, we made it to lunch without any drama. Fingers crossed for the rest of the afternoon.

  • Compton gets to 1,000 runs for the season.
  • 50 up without loss
  • Jaydn LBW 20 (56)

    52-1
  • Things you are most unlikely to see in cricket - Ben Compton reverse sweeping Rehan Ahmed. Which has just happened.
  • 100 up, 50 for Compton and 50 partnership with Ekansh too

    102-1 (35)
  • 117-1 (39) at tea. 354 behind.

    Compton  62* (115)
    Ekansh     33* (64)
  • Ekansh falls straight after tea, caught chipping one to mid-on. He is one of those youngsters that can look in no trouble and then out of nowhere gives it up. That is the whole reason for playing him and the others in these games now. The 20s and 30s will, hopefully, become the 50s and 100s next year.

    117-2

He wants to replace Zak as a Bazball opener

Compton and Sibley to open in the Ashes  ;)
  • Watching the almighty working-over Rehan is giving Compton is making me even angrier England didn't pick him
  • Glamorgan 2s 253-9 (effectively all out as one batter was absent). Mo Rivzi returned for Kent 21.5-2-90-7

Rivzi, ironically, has split his time this season between playing for both Glamorgan and Kent 2s

In Kent 2s current match against Warwickshire, Rivzi has returned combined figures for both innings of 48.5-6-163-9 meaning 16 wickets at 15.81 of the last 30 wickets we've taken.
