Rehan looks the business. Jamie Overton ahead of him in the England squad is nuts0

Leicestershire 92-1. Putting them in may not have been the best decision.1

Immediately followed next ball by a great catch by Muyeye at slip. Parkinson on a hat-trick.1

Ton up for Rehan Ahmed
237-32 -
Probably going to sound like a broken record but can't see why Ahmed isn't being given a shot in the test team ahead of Dawson. He's young and not the finished article but he would learn so much0

Leicestershire is an even more unfashionable county than Kent having languished at or near the foot of division 2 for many seasons. Ahmed, in my view, could be a victim of that. If (when) Leicestershire get promoted I think he will come into the thinking of the selectors.0 -

Now, if we're talking about Ahmed getting into the side as as all rounder then that's a different proposition but we still have to think who we are going to leave out. If Pope is vulnerable then perhaps Ahmed could be the one to bat at 3 but Bethell appears to be the one in waiting for that or the opening berth.1 -

Ahmed caught at slip for 119 by Muyeye off Parkinson
272-5 (59.5)1 -
276-5 (64) at tea1

Controversy - Parkinson "wided" for constantly bowling outside leg stump.0
-
Kimber caught by sub Kashif Ali in the deep off Parkinson to give the spinner his fourth wicket
295-6 (67.2)1 -
Bizarre dismissal of Green the very next ball - out sweeping a delivery from Parkinson only to be caught at silly point by Dawkins and the bowler has his 5 wicket haul with the chance of more to come. And another hat-trick chance for Parkinson.
295-71 -
Considering Leics were 201-1 we've done very well to have them 295-7 especially in the absence of Stewart. Now need to mop up the tail for less than another 40 or 50.1

Finch is acting skipper and I make it that he is the fifth player to do that job for us this season.0
-
Yet another for Parkinson. Van Beek another victim of the sweep shot, caught at short third man by Garrett
321-8 (71.5)1 -
It's getting away from us. It appears that, in addition to Stewart being off injured, Agar might be struggling too or the light might be the reason we have yet to take the new ball.
360-8 (82)1 -
Yet another man out sweeping to Parkinson - Holland caught behind square by Garrett once again. Gives Parkinson his best CC figures of 7-99
363-9 (83.1)1 -
Agar is fit enough to bowl.1
-
Off for bad light after all
366-9 (86.1)1 -

Play re-commences at 18.241

We're not trying to take a wicket because we don't want to bat tonight. No slips for Agar and he's been told to bowl as wide as possible without it being a wide. The irony is that Parkinson was called earlier for bowling a negative line albeit those were pitching outside leg stump.0

Muyeye becomes our eighth bowler of the day. Given that Dawkins and Compton don't bowl he will be the last one to do so. Unless Dawkins replaces Finch with the gloves of course.0
