Sancho to Spurs on loan anyone?
Not saying he'd be any good, just it's a cheap alternative Levy might go for now they're getting desperate.0 -

We're overloaded for wingers. We need a no.10 or at least a player who can cover no.10 and the wing.
Unless we try Kudus at no.10 but we need him on the right. Last Saturday proved exactly why we need him wide. First time I've seen one of our wingers beat a full back on the outside and put a ball in since the days of Bale. For as good as Johnson is at getting to the far post for a tap in, he just doesn't have the ability to beat a full back.0 -

"Very worrying comments from Nuno Espírito Santo at #nffc today. Said he and owner Evangelos Marinakis are “not as close” and the “relationship has changed”. More to follow later0

One thing I find interesting is Newcastle, Forest and Villa fans last season thought they would overtake Arsenal as a threat . If you look at how the season finished and the transfer activity of all those clubs this summer it’s clear to see Arsenal are miles ahead of all of them.0

They were going to finish above Arsenal including beating them in one of their two remaining games.
Arsenal won both their games, Newcastle didn’t pick up a point, Isak their star player who won’t be sold never wants to play for the club again.
It’s a funny old game.

Find me a single player that has joined Newcastle and used the League Cup win as a reasoning for joining such a massive club and I'll let you have that one.1

The ridiculous PSR rules will ensure that the big clubs who are already established and already have high revenue will always have an advantage. Look at Villa, their record signing is 50m, coming off the back of a season in the CL, they have billionaire owners who want to spend big but they can't. Meanwhile United finished 15th, are not in Europe at all, and have gone out and spent more than 50m each on three new attackers.
If PSR didn't exist, we'd see Newcastle going on a spending spree like Chelsea and Man City.3 -
If we look at the money spent so far this summer, if Arteta doesn't win a major trophy this season after a net spend of almost 300m then he has to be gone. A lot has been made of Liverpool's signings and yes they've spent 300m but they've also recouped 200m in sales.0

The whole thing is a game and one that Newcastle play badly. Newcastle could sell Isak, put all the money in this years accounts and then spread the spending of it over 4/5 years. In essence they could probably buy enough players to actually make the team better, even with a worse striker. Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth have done it well. They have good sporting directors and coaches with distinct style of play. Newcastle have pragmatist Eddie Howe and his nephew, how are they giving themselves a chance to compete with that structure?

Yawn. Hope you've got your bet on Newcastle winning the league anyway.
I do wonder why Isak wants to leave if they're in such a great spot going forwards.0 -
