I ended up not making it, first league/ play off game I’ve missed since Orient on 1st March a 21 game run which felt noteworthy after many years of much less consistent attendance inspired by our dire run

was away in poncy country hotel with missus and friends and was hoping to whiz up on Saturday morning but hangover + she wasn’t gonna have it meant they all got to sit in some posh lounge bar whilst I streamed it. Went embarrassingly mental when the winner went in. Was very jealous of the rainy away end looked class

agreed with poster who said tantos finish was poor, when he struck it I was already for a split second getting ready to erupt in a different way with yet more frustration as it looked like it was gonna bounce back off the keeper, should’ve been putting that well into the corner / top corner miles from the keeper but don’t give a shit, well in mate and I like Tanto and would like to see a bit more of him

TC frustrated the hell out of me, he is so effective in driving us up the pitch and wins free kicks etc and so important in many ways but Jesus his end product, so frustrating his shooting, crossing and passing, and he’s so slow to make a pass or cross - doesn’t seem like the right partner for Kelman who wants an early ball. Wouldn’t mind seeing Apter there with Bree who seems very good in the RWB role

we should have scored sooner, continuing worry is the lack of quality in final third, fluctuating between thinking that is gonna have us scrapping for our lives Vs we’re just a whisker/ bit of finessing away from being a play off contender

leaburn made a big difference, seems to be following in his fathers footsteps of polarising support but I love him, brilliant first header for the goal and although he might have scored that one that broke to him he at least struck it well unlike the pansy shots from TC and Kelman earlier on

Bell has been one of my favourite players of the season. Ramsays left footed twin brother, and without the cringe instagram videos
    He's learning from Kayne...

    Hopefully all the good things...😉
  • I may be misreading things, it is a gut feeling, and I think Jones doesn't want to make a song or dance of it but he thinks we can make the play offs.
    Absolutely not.

Isn't winning this without the assist but hopefully gives him confidence. Bell or Doc have been cheated 😂
To be fair, most of our creativity came from Bree in the match.

Wasn't he the one who put in the cross for Jones' header that was expertly saved by Cooper, and then again put in the cross that Docherty headed over?

I'm surprised at some of our ratings this week. I thought we were generally quite poor, but better than them.
As always, the result massively colours the view and the ratings. Look at some of the comments on the match thread before we scored. If the keeper had kept out Tanto’s shot you’d be seeing lower scores.

Coventry put in the cross for Jones. Not sure on the other.

I hope those critics  of Docherty, who said he wouldn't be good enough for the Championship, are enjoying their humble pie.
I'm having that humble pie for breakfast, lunch and dinner today. I will freely admit to being one of his detractors at times this season and honestly thought he was the weak link but today at that game he was immense never stopped running and close with bell for me for man of the match, I'm happy he is proving me and others wrong Atm that's football for ya I still wish we had another option on the bench say or starting that brings a little more quality from that area but if it's working it's working and I'm not the manager.I'd also like to add about some of the comments before the match of people saying we are gonna get stuffed or being soo negative before we had even kicked a ball that's laughable tbh and there's some humble pie there aswell, the away support was amazing we believed, the team believed and  Nathan did and that's what u need against any team your playing.
And me and im chuffed about it coz he's always had the right attitude even last year when he looked very very limited but been very impressed by him this year - looks sharper and getting on top of his opponent/s a lot more - also pleased that bree did well coz if i'm honest i 'm a bit concerned about apter's lack of physicality. What i'm convinced about is this division isn't the super league that people kept saying it is - or had become in the 5 years since we were last in it. There's a lot of teams that go straight through it in one direction or another and i'm not writing off the possibility of us being one of them this season - unlikely but not ruling it out. COYR !!!!!!!!!

  • Not sure I understand the point that Bree wouldn't have won MOM without the best touch and assist we've seen in the opposition box this season.

That assist sets the bar for first touch, control, head-up awareness, and execution of a pass in attacking areas.
I just prefer to look at the whole performance rather than a moment when it comes to man of the match. Not that it really matters.

That dummy and pass from Bree is exactly the kind of quality and composure we've been missing in the final third this season.
Totally agree about composure it's something we lack at times snatching at shots or maybe not choosing the right pass at times but as we grow into the season I think it will get better as the players start to believe more and realise these players we are up against we are as good as them and the confidence grows.
  • Already concerned that we won’t be able to extend Bree’s loan/sign him in January!

Think he's out of contract at Southampton in 2026, and is on a good wedge, but would be a real coup if we were to get him on a perm in Jan...
  • We were so good aerially for that winner let alone the control, touch, cross and then finish.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere. Bell was my MOTM with Doc and Bree a close second.
It was such a well worked goal, it almost looked like it could have been something planned in a training session.
