Even at EFL clubs, managers seem to have teams of people with them. Not just Bloomfield sacked. That's the Lee Harrison who came  through our academy in the 90s, but never played a 1st team game.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c07vmgm43kko

Bloomfield's assistant Richard Thomas, first-team coach Lee Harrison and analyst Ben Cirne have also left Kenilworth Road.
This was part of the problem with the Garner appointment, we brought over the wrong part of his back room team

The only problem with the Garner appointment was that we appointed Garner. Shit manager.
Him, Holden and Appleton all three who should never have even been thought about, let alone appointed.
I could see the logic appointing Garner - young coach, had a decent season in the league below playing good football, apparently highly thought of as a coach at Palace etc.

What made no sense was TS appointing a manager to change the style of play when he was planning to cut the budget and not give a manager anything to work with to change that style of play.   Doomed to fail, and if he was planning that sort of cutbacks then sticking with Jackson who was more pragmatic made so much more sense.
This ^ , TS's muddled thinking around what he " wanted" playing style wise was so frustrating. You appoint Garner who needed players to play a very exact style and then don't give him the proper backing to do it and wonder why it failed.

Surely Garner has to take some blame there also
    - Knew what we had when he joined
    - Got no assurance of what he could spend
    - Failed as as result

Obv we don't know what he was promised by TS, but there is no way NJ signs a five year deal without cast iron committment to the spend we got in the summer.

And I have a suspicion about managers who can only play one way, and require an entire squad to be built around their style of play.

I believe he now works for Right To Dream who are an academy programme that brings young players over to Europe from Africa , also owners of FC Nordesjaelland and San Diego FC.

Probably better suited to academy coaching.

Completely agree - some people are just suited to coaching or a good assistant but not suited to management.

Good plan, let's hire the manager we sacked before. And since he was sacked by Watford he has:

    Been sacked by Valencia
Managed in Qatar for 7 months.
Been sacked by Leeds after just 12 games.
    Been unemployed for 2.5 years.

Gracia seemed to do a decent enough job at Watford first time round.

No surprise the current manager is about to get the boot, but as the NTT20 Podcast noted this week a number of clubs like Watford, Norwich and WBA have wasted the Premier League parachute payments through poor management.

If the Watford Manager is being sacked, someone needs to check on the Cameraman who was obsessed with him on the opening day at the Valley, he's going to be distraught!!

Don't worry, there'll be another one along soon after for the cameraman to focus on.

Then another one the week after, and the week after that ...

Poor Pezzolano, the wiki page of Watford managers hasn't yet been updated to include him!

I'd forgotten some of the big names that have come and gone in recent years. Ranieri, Hodgson, Edwards, Bilic and Wilder.

Pezzolano lasted 10 matches at Watford and Tom Cleverly who lasted 13 months(interim at first) between April 24 and May 25 was awarded a gold watch for longevity by Gino Pozzo.

It'll probably come up in a quiz night somewhere.

It's nice to be able to laugh at Watford again, after we went through a very Watfordish run of managers between Bowyer and Jones...
    Adkins, Jackson, Garner, Holden, Appleton...

Hartlepool United Football Club has today parted company with manager Simon Grayson.

Following discussions yesterday evening and a board meeting this morning, it became clear that expectations with performances and results have not been met.

He beat Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens to the role and is believed to have signed a three-year deal.

Interesting that Richie Wellens was also an option. That doesn't suggest he'll stay at Orient much longer.
