    No surprise there, I'd have thought they would have sold out their allocation every time they are here.
    Along with Wednesday I think they have the best away following in this division.

    Plymouth, Portsmouth and Wednesday have the best away followings in the country,.   Leeds aside.

     It's not real.

    Here's the away end tonight, all be it at half-time. they have the whole bottom tier, and the second fixed advertising panel is for 'Beyond' which aso doesn't feature in the photo taken 11 hours prior to kick off. Good numbers yes but that's not a picture of it there @oohaahmortimer

    Are you suggesting oohaah's photo is real?  Not that i'm going to argue over it, but just leave it there as a deception not everyone has been taken in by.

    i thought the 13.30 at the top of the picture was the clue this picture wasn't of tonights game but that's just after someone sent it to me and i took a screenshot , i hadn't had a chance to put it on here because I've been busy .
    It's just an away end picture at bolton ... i don't think they could time travel and send a pic of tonights away following 7 hours before the event .
    I'm looking at the numbers of 4,646 sold out which is unreal , they are massive

    West Ham are huge there’s no doubt of the size of their club and their away support is unreal

    Can still remember a post about only 40000 of them rattling around the stadium before the season started 😂 they’d sell 80k for some games in this division no problem 

    They will be top now till May

    West Ham get 60k for their home games, so is it just me that thinks them taking 4,600 to an away game isn't that incredible? That's about 8% of their home following, which is like us taking 1,600 away (based on 20k home fans).

    It was also their first trip to Bolton for 15 years, so probably a new ground for some fans.

    Also half their fans are taxi drivers, crims, self employed or unemployed and that makes it easier to have a day or two off. Still got to make the effort though.

    they are the 4th biggest team in London with a gap between the likes of spurs and Chelsea above them and then another big gap to the likes of Fulham and I guess palace now. They have most of east London and Essex. Plus there's a few elsewhere..
    I remember when they were in the final of that European cup thing they won and was surprised by the amount of west ham fans in Tonbridge area for example. Flags being flown on cars and replica tops on people walking the streets.

    A fair point but to look at it another way, it's a ground they haven't played at for 15 years and in a division they expect (hope) to only be in for one season. So a lot are getting a chance to tick off grounds they might otherwise not get to in a hurry.

    Look at us for example, they haven't played at the Valley for nearly 20 years, or played at Millwall for 15 years.

    We wouldn't take 1,600 to Bolton a Tuesday night if we were top.

    As this is about away followings…following on from our trip to WBA,after the game & when it had nearly cleared out,I found a Blue & Red Nike puffer jacket under a seat half way down stand…I did mention to a steward if anyone comes to claim it…(I didn’t want to leave it there) that il take back with me & hand into to The Valley reception…I’m on way to ground now & ll do exactly that ok…so if anyone knows who’s it is or could anyone out on other Charlton platforms so it can be returned to its owner…thanks

    I don't recall us rapidly selling out games at lower league strugglers like Morecambe or Newport, clubs we were unlikely to be playing very often.

    Let's be honest, those are crazy numbers for a midweek away game oop North. And unlike Northern clubs playing in London,  there are unlikely to be many West Ham fans in the area for work or university.

    I'm sure they all eagerly checked the fixture list for when they could drink in a trading estate in Horwich.

    Alternatively they may just have a huge fan base.
