Wow fantastic. I know he’s a very devout Christian and it’s always nice to see some one using their faith and how special Christmas is for them to help others (saying that as an agnostic/atheist!)Rothko said:7 -
Amazing to see from Charlie2

Top fella and a great story. Hope he is back playing soon , I'm sure he will kick on in the second half of the season9
-
That touch to make space, followed by the clinical finish was top class. Isn't that two goals in his last 2 games...almost, dare I say it, prolific

That goal, as someone said when he scored, is the sort of finish I thought we'd see more of from him... Was a quality strikeHas he played much with Leaburn?8
-
Just needs to keep it up you see the difference between Tanto and Kelman’s chances and you can clearly see why Jones wanted Kelman7
-
Quality finish by Kelman. His match fitness wasn't all there, so i think 30 minute cameos from the bench are sensible at this stage5
-
His close control and passing is way above our other strikers, too. When he came on it looked like we finally looked comfortable playing to feet rather than just lumping it to leaburn. We look a much better team with him in it.13

Interesting stat - I make it that they've played 116 minutes together during which time we've scored three goals - today's winner (Kelman), the equaliser (Kelman) against Swansea and the equaliser against Hull (Berry).4 -
He is quality. Will turn into a really good signing and certainly better than Mr Kone…
can’t wait to get my own back on QPR fans, as they’ve been giving me shit over giving them the big’un for signing him lol!3 -

Best all round footballer of all our strikers by a mile.
You can see why he scored so many for Orient. If we ever get Godden back then he we will be well set up front.
Helped he had a chance to come off the bench rather than start. Unfortunately I think he will have the thankless task of being one of our starters and not finishers soon.
They all look better off but bench….. think it’s Leaburn who looks better starting if anything8 -
That was much more promising than his first few outings, despite it becoming undoubtable that we were a better team with him in it. I had become willing to accept a lack of production if he was making the team around him better.
If we are that better team and he continues to add finishes like that - it could turn into something quite special.2 -
Leaburn and Kelman, once both fully fit, is the way to go for now. If we get in a target man, them and Kelman first choice with pace off the bench in Tanto and TC, and pressing and physical presence in Leaburn.
Godden the wildcard when he's finally back.
Hope he goes on a bit of a run of goals now, that will do his confidence the absolute world of good11 -
Full credit to Kelman for his recovery. Seven weeks out and he comes back looking like he has had his own pre-season.
He has clearly added some upper-body strength. His touch, swivel and finish were impressive. Most of our lot telegraph their strikes straight to the keeper, but he used the defender as a shield to show proper striker play.10 -

On Cawleys podcast he said Jones said Kelman was misdiagnosed which kept him out for longer9

Yeah I agree, seemed like he was a bit quicker and was playing off the shoulder a bit.mendonca said:Full credit to Kelman for his recovery. Seven weeks out and he comes back looking like he has had his own pre-season.

Misdiagnosed? That’s a big screw up for a professional sports teamoohaahmortimer said:On Cawleys podcast he said Jones said Kelman was misdiagnosed which kept him out for longer7 -

Didn’t similar happen with Godden too? As well as a potential botched procedureCallumcafc said:

Didn't something get screwed up with Godden's surgery as well? Who are we sending these players to, Dr Nick?Callumcafc said:

I was expecting him to need some time to get up to speed but today was his best game for us imo. Good link up play, looked sharp and took his goal well.2

As my mate said , that is 2 in 2 for Kelman now.

From the moment he came on you could see the difference in he makes. Makes the sort of intelligent runs a proper striker makes.12

In the interview aired on Charlton Live, NJ said that Charlie was playing through an injury earlier in the season, which may explain some of his quiet performances. Hope that yesterday was the first glimpse of the real CK.8
-
That's very positive news then and as someone pointed out above for someone out so long he looked very sharp in the short time he had in the game, maybe we have given him a bit more time to get back and not rushed him,I expect him to come off the bench again next game and then start.Chunes said:In the interview aired on Charlton Live, NJ said that Charlie was playing through an injury earlier in the season, which may explain some of his quiet performances. Looked sharp yesterday and made a big difference along with TC. Great finish for the goal. I was right inline with it and you knew it was in from the moment it left his foot. Very happy for him and a lovely video delivering those xmas presents too. COYA0
