  • He wasn't great, but having played so little football all season, you can perhaps understand him being a bit rusty.

There's no reserve team football now, and I don't recall him playing in any U21 games either.

    Wasn't this guy a 7 figure fee?
Somewhere between £500k and 750k apparently
  • Reported at 750k

Think it’s hard to judge him when he’s coming into that type of game when every player is playing awfully and we’re being battered.

Unfortunately as far as I can remember the last time he got extended game time was the Cambridge game, where the only way he really distinghuished himself was taking some really crap corners. I agree judging him on yesterday is unfair, but he's really not done the "grabbing his chance with both hands" thing at any point.

Was like a defensive version of Danny Hylton coming on yesterday.

Thought he looked a good player for Blackburn, so shame he’s not showed much for us so far.

From the little I've seen of him, he looks quite tidy on the ball, but also appears to be painfully slow. He  also came close to getting a second yellow for a poor slide tackle at the end, but luckily he missed the player as well as the ball. I'm slightly shocked we spent £750k on him...

He showed a bit of dribbling ability near the end there, completely taking three of theirs out of the game.

If only there was a midfield runner ready to smash that ball across into the net.

Good game awareness to basically jump on their keeper a few mins later

Good bit of skill there, barely touched the ball otherwise.

He's obviously got some quality about him. A mystery why we've seen so little of him.

Inconsistency? That’s and maybe a lack of fitness is all I can think of

I’m not sure his cameo today was enough to justify a place in the starting XI, but would definitely like to see a bit more of him off of the bench.
  • Today was an improvement on what we’ve seen previously, hope to see that continued when he gets a chance.

Think you need to play some football before you can be called inconsistent.

Ummm you mean like Docherty, except JRC managed to pass the ball two yards behind him? Not sure what they showed on the telly but it was clear as anything to those of us in the away end.

Just when I was wondering why he has 13 dribbling, flair and technique in FM 😆

Where did that performance come from?
Makes you understand that  amusing skill on the ball at Birmingham at bit more.
Can wonder on that basis, as to why we've not seen him more, I'll never believe that Jones doesn't give players minutes simply because he doesn't like them, this isn't the school playground, and lets be honest... He's not exactly "impressed" when given minutes, although a good few games have been fleeting minutes in other matches so its been hard for him to stand out or impress.
Whatever has been going on, whether there are personal issues with him settling in the South East, whether he's been carrying a knock, or whether he's taken time to be molded into a "Nathan Jones Player"... Lets just hope he can pick up a bit of momentum and play a part over the next few weeks.
As when I saw him in Pre-Season, I fully expected him to be a tidy player, like what we saw tonight, and a bit of a dark horse of a signing for the season ahead... and thats not quite been replicated so far.

Looked like a Championship player - Wanted to be positive, drive at the man and look to bring others into play.

Lots of neat touches, supporting runs as well as the ability to switch it up!
Hopefully he is someone that can kick on now
