Why has it taken so long for Torville and Dean to receive Knighthoods and Damehoods, when we dish them out to the likes of Sadiq Khan and Nick Clegg willy nilly
I think Willy Nilly had his rescinded?
Think Willy Nilly deserves it more than Khan.
I think we get your point Nigel.

Democratically elected (so far as we know) leaders of powerful nations who claim to be ending wars and entitled to international peace awards running pirate raids on international shipping, murdering ships' crews,  launching bombing raids on sovereign states and kidnapping said states' leaders.
Democratically elected leaders of the murderous bombing pirate's "allied" nations equivocating on condemnation of the murderous bombing pirate.

The amount of junior football coaches who had young kids training early this morning on frozen park pitches in minus conditions despite virtually all senior football being called off today

Services to knife crime are deemed more important than success at ice skating according to the powers that be and
What have Khan and Clegg done about knife crime, all our marvellous mayor does is hammer the motorists with more and more charges, well worthy of a knighthood.
Nick Clegg hasn't been in government for 8 years, Khan is mayor of one of the most populous cities in the world. I suspect you are a Tory or worse. The UK is not amongst the top 16 nations for knife crime. The US is higher despite their propensity for guns.

I'm not sure what more Khan can do. Perhaps a media campaign highlighting that stabbing victims are usually unarmed and knife wielders are cowards of the first order.

Another decent shout is a move to ban knives with points and go for curved edges, but with the internet it would need to be a global law.

Actors who think their work is anymore meaningful than giving us something to watch on screen. Some of them are so far up their own backside and seem to genuinely believe their work is pure and impactful on the real world.

I don't know about 'pure', but their work can be impactful. The show that springs to mind is, 'Mr Bates vs The Post Office' but I'm sure there's plenty of other stuff too.

That said, I'm fully with you on actors (or anyone else for that matter) who get carried away with their own self-importance.

I agree with your observations about knife crime, although i dont understand the need to bring the my political opinions into the matter.
You seem to have missed my point, knighthoods should be for people who have earned them by being successful in their fields and contributing to society over and above the norm.
What did Clegg do to warrant his, what has Khan done, other than jack up costs to enter London by car in the name of a cleaner environment.(is this working ,is the air cleaner, dont know).
You can never ban pointed knives,go to any hardware shop and buy a kitchen knife.
What you can do is up the punishment, some of these cowardly little bastards are teenagers who will kill someone and be back on the streets in their 30s now being the big man who has done time and deserves "respect".
Give them 40 years, they wont be so keen then to knife someone.

Sorry AFKA, I just have to say this.

People who post opinions that are clearly politically motivated, and then moan when someone mentions the their politics.

Also people who think that either Nick Clegg or Sadiq Khan make the decison on how long criminals get in prison for knife crime.

People who clearly only get behind the wheel of a car at weekends.
Stuck behind one yesterday doing half the speed limit in country roads, braking for no reason, twenty cars piled up behind them, no idea we were there.
    Finally they turn off.
Careful says I, there’s a broken down car up ahead. Yes, says himself I saw it as we passed earlier (on the other side of the river & we were going so slow we both clocked it).
As we approach car on the other side of the road, every car behind it decided they were Max Verstappen and had to over take it while two girls were clearly trying to change a puncture.
We got to it, did the cars stop and give way? Did they feck, middle aged fat cow drove straight at us. Himself slamming the horn and the brakes, she finally stopped inches from us. Any apology, sign of remorse? None.

    Fecking muppets.

She appeared on the latest Hootenanny on the same bill as Olivia Dean, Imelda May, Jessie J, Heather Small and Ruby Turner -  I thought she was shown up - time to hang up the mike.

She was still better than Ronnie Wood.
His rendition of Ooh La La was truly awful.

Tesco Express and similar. Pull in to get fuel only to find all the pumps are taken by selfish people going to do a weekly shop. No intention of getting fuel they just park on the pumps despite alternative spaces available for shoppers only.

I am the only person in Chez Rizzo who can shuffle cards. Our kids love card games. I now hate them (the kids or card games, take your pick).

1)Where have I said Clegg and Khan are responsible for prison sentences.
2)How can a comment that compares Torvill and Dean to Khan and Clegg be politically motivated seeing they represent different parties.
    3)Where have I moaned

If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow,
    Do be alarmed now,
it’s probably me looking at my daughter’s friend through her bedroom window while having a quick game of pocket billiards.
