I thought Vigo was going to retire. If I have to hear him shouting about "where's the cue ball going?!" one more time I'm going scream..

Well he's done it again but it means Higgins wins the frame and it's now 6-5 to Wilson

I’ve had to put TNT sport on instead.

    Virgo is unlistenable
  • Disappointing final.   Nothing more to add.

Pretty poor final. Both players made mistakes. Not a huge amount of tension. Kinda glad I didn't watch it all as had the AFCON final on

Watched a couple of frames last night and honestly could not believe the mistakes that both players were making. They both looked like a couple of random blokes at the local snooker club; not two of the best players in the world!

Haven't watched much of this players championship which is on channel 5. This semi final between world champion Zhao and Allen is boiling along nicely. Only 11 frame match though.

    4 - 3 to allen

Ronnie O'Sullivan has created more snooker history by making the sport's highest-ever professional break with a 153 at the World Open in Yushan.

Seven-time world champion O'Sullivan set the new record in the opening frame of his quarter-final with Ryan Day to pave the way for a dominant 5-0 victory.

The 50-year-old left Day in a snooker at the start of the frame and the Welshman's failure to escape gifted O'Sullivan a free ball.

He potted the green as the 16th red before adding his opening black and then reeling off 15 reds, 13 further blacks and two pinks before clearing the final six colours to reach 153.

It breaks the previous record for the highest professional break - a 148 set by Jamie Burnett at the UK Championship qualifiers in 2004.

He trusted to luck a little on the penultimate red. The black went tight on the top cushion, so he had to take pinks for the last two reds and was left with a tough black to complete the break.

World Snooker have put the frame on YouTube, starting from the shot that led to the free ball.

Revamped Crucible to host World Championship until 2045 - BBC Sport

The World Snooker Championship will remain at the Crucible in Sheffield until 2045, with the venue set to be refurbished to add up to 500 additional seats.

The new long-term deal at the 980-capacity theatre also includes an option to extend it to 2050.

During the redevelopment period after the 2028 edition, the tournament will be hosted in 2029 at an alternative venue.

National and local government will supply £35m of the £45m revamp cost, with the other £10m coming from the private sector.

Snooker's premier event has been staged at the Crucible since 1977, with the current deal running until 2027.
