I am beginning to think that there are some deep problems in our club.
I wonder whether NJ is actually doing this on purpose and wants a pay-off? For all his frantic arm waving he is behaving very strangely and a very honest no excuses presser on Sky after the game.
Nothing forthcoming from our owners in the window and Jones knows how short we are at this level. Even so his selections and tactics are laughable and we can see evidence of a rift with some or all of the players.
The players themselves are headless and spineless but I certainly don't think they are giving their all for NJ.
Injuries are one thing and without incoming quality in the window we were always going to struggle but Jones is behaving very strangely and I have to think that the owners will not put more money into this club at least under Jones?
I don't think they will sack him - they probably don't want to pay him off having just increased his contract this season and Jones and the players are just going through the motions - poorly.........

Awful performance and result. Millwall could have had 8!! Worried this could be their year.Positives were Lloyd (hero playing with his ankle injury), Chamber’s and TC. The rest, very poor.As I said in the preview, 3-4-2-1 is the best formation against Millwall. We did it for the first 20 mins of the second half. 3-5-2 was never going to work against them and their massive defence. Dykes was so isolated. We are crying out for a Billy Mitchell type player.A massive 10 days for Jones. If we do not address the issues in CM, we are serious serious trouble.Fans are starting to turn on Jones. He’s fallen out with some players. Doc, not in the squad again. It feels like things slowly starting to fall apart for him, on and off the field.5

But what footballer would want to play in such a joyless, negative way every single week!Valleyfan2 said:None of the players seem to have any self belief anymore and look terrified when they get the ball. Players don’t turn into bad players overnight, something has happened. Not sure Jones is capable of turning it around, players don’t seem to want to play for him any more.
The players look to have lost confidence in him, and also lost confidence in their own abilities as well, due to the dire football that the team is playing.
Jones seems to be so far up himself that he appears to deliberately do the exact opposite of what the fans think should be done. Anderson for Coventry today. Really!
A team that has produced next to nothing for weeks, yet still he refuses to play Apter.
Who is advising NJ?
Is anyone in his ear, trying to help him come to his senses? I cannot believe that Fleming and Hylton agree with some of his weird decisions lately.
But if what I am hearing is true, he has surrounded himself with yes men and therefore no one dares question him.
I'm really starting to wonder whether he actually still wants the job, or wants out.
He's not seeing what everyone else is seeing, that's for sure, because if he was, he'd know that you can't win a football match without scoring goals.
And I don't mean Rodwell.1 -

How did we go from a super confident team on the 25 October who won 3-0 at Ipswich (Tractor boys could be in Premier in 26/27) to this flakey team ?
The majority on CL said Ramsey was off to the Premier at the end of this Season; I was the only poster pre Millwall at the Valley, that said Kayne did make mistakes. Played like a Harrogate player today 🤦🏽♂️
Why didn't we revert to Coventry as the defensive midfielder, with Captain Docherty and Carey.
At least Carey runs with the ball forward though I agree he couldn't get his shots off today.
Nathan Jones has to own this defeat and the embarrassment that all Charlton fans feel.
When most of the team lose form together then it's the managers job to find a solutions. TC being put back to LWB was just a weird decision from the 45th to the 60th minute before Clarke went there.
Decent CAFC players are bereft of skills and most look leggy.
Oxford just gone 2 up at Leicester 🤦🏻♂️2 -

Why did Leaburn not even get on the pitch?
Been out best player over the last few weeks. If he didn’t start then surely he comes on after an hour????17 -

Think that second half performance and result was a watershed moment.
We either galvanise, grow some bollocks and put some wins together and secure Championship football or capitulate now and make a very avoidable relegation a reality.
I actually really enjoyed today with the atmosphere etc in a perverse way and am so conditioned to the team bottling it there that I'm immune to it now.
Onto leicester and qpr now and hopefully we can do enough to play millwall again next season in the league.8 -
Thankfully left the Den at 2-0, so didn’t see the last two goals (plus it was easy to get a train back into London Bridge).
I hate to say it but Millwall are good championship side, and we are not. For the most, we have a league one squad and now it’s starting to show.
Jones needs to look at his team selection, no idea how Anderson starts over Coventry. Anderson was heading to Wycombe until Jones fell out with Doc, but now he’s deemed to start in the Championship - he’s not good enough.
The players need to look at themselves, out fought and out muscled all over the pitch.I’m not sure where the next point will come from. The 3 home games on the bounce, under the lights will define our season.6 -
Just watched Jones post match interview and yes he’s put his hands up and says he’s taken responsibility for that debacle but hang on. It’s not just that game Nathan. We have looked like a side heading into a relegation scrap for a few months now. I’m struggling to remember the last dominant performance. We have in my view a squad that’s very much league one and that’s where the problem is. Our recruitment has for me mostly been very poor. We spent good money on players who can’t get a kick and when they do they don’t look good enough. The difference in quality today was gobsmacking. It rankles when I see people saying what do you expect with our budget. Bollocks to that. If our owners don’t want to spend the necessary money for us to be a Championship club then sell up and let someone else have a go. I’m fuming because it was very hard for us to get out of that poxy league we were in and now we’re heading straight back to it. No excuses for where we are. From owners through manager right down to players. Not good enough. Rant over.13

Didn’t enjoy listening to the match on the app, disliking reading about it in this thread even more. Thank goodness I didn’t see it.

He needs to take responsibility and leave it there. I'm one of his most ardent supporters but he needs to read the room and any digs at fans after today he can do one.kinveachyaddick said:Jones will need to be careful what he says post-match1 -

If Ramsay plays in the Premier League, the only thing I can assume happened between now and that day is World War 3 broke out and he somehow survived the nuclear fallout but no other footballers in the top 2 tiers of world football didaso914 said:Saw someone on X say Ramsay is asking for a premier league release clause in his new contract.4 -

That must be because Leaburn is being sold, or some will believe that.blackpool72 said:I'm still not in the Nathan Jones out brigade
But fuck me when I got on the train at South Bermondsey pretty much the whole carriage seemed to want him out.
I don't expect to get a result at Leicester next week, but if we don't start playing better and picking up points soon I can see the atmosphere at the valley becoming quite toxicAre elbiglad said:That’s about as poor a performance under Jones as I can remember. An absolute capitulation at the end which is inexcusable.
The primary thing that I - and many others - loved about this team under Jones was that no matter what, week after week we would see 100% effort and fight. The football wasn’t always the most attractive, but we were hard to play against and determined. That has completely disappeared. I am not sure why; but that is very rarely a good sign and usually indicates bigger cultural issues.
I hope Jones can turn it around. I’d rather him than most other available options. But it’s a big ask.
We’ve all been so worried about the left side of our defence that the centre of the park has gone unnoticed. Huge week in terms of recruitment if we want to stay in this league.Team selection strange again. The constant changing is hard to understand; Coventry a guaranteed starter now in an out. JRC and Anderson getting three games in then three games out. None of them anywhere near the level today. Love Fullah, but he looked like a kid playing men’s football today. Ramsay’s deterioration continues.Leaburn out the team in the midst of a good run of performances for a one dimensional journeyman. TC our one positive outlet in the first half, shifted to wing back for a player they surely knew was only going to do 45mins. Then ten minutes into the second half it’s a triple change and a shift in tactics. That’s not good! It doesn’t take a genius to work out TC may struggle against one of the most direct right wingers in the league.Kaminski was poor today, his distribution was wayward. We played into their hands with the long ball but couldn’t get out our half playing it short. No positives from today.
We lack identity, come into games with poor tactical plans and have lost all fight and belief. A worrying recipe.
Are you saying it is not already. To me it seems it is, fans booing the players and manager.

This team is built around a solid defence not conceding and us nicking a goal. Now our defence is not actually solid, we invariably go behind and just don't have the quality to get anything from games.
Some odd choices in the starting 11 but we were still in it after the first half. Every game we seem to make loads of changes, it's so frustrating. Leaburn and Kelman were showing promising signs of a partnership and the midfield changes every game. TC gets shunted from one position to another during games, unfair on him and sh1t for our attacking cohesity.
The hope for us is that the new wingbacks settle in, we get a replacement for Gillesphey and Ramsay and/or Burke recover some form. Desperately need some quality in midfield too.
Am bemused by the digging out of Anderson. I would never have started him over JRC but he really wasn't that bad today and we were only 1-0 down and still in it when he went off. The capitulation occured after he departed.7 -
We sent them off with a rapturous applause and tears of pride for such a valiant effort 👌CAFCFW05 said:What was the reaction at the end of the game. Clapping players or booing? I couldn’t face staying when they got a penatly9 -

When Fullah put the ball in the net he’d already heard the whistle go. If the ball had still been in play who knows what would have happened, he may have bottled it like Coburn did earlier in the game. It’s easy to finish when the balls already dead. We can’t say it would have turned out exactly the same if the play had gone on, we can’t be sure it would have ended with the ball in the net as it did. No point rewriting history.ForeverAddickted said:The one frustration is that Millwall should never have gone 1-0 up, and we should have gone 1-0 up given how the wrong goal got disallowed - Of course it doesn't mean that things would have turned out exactly the same way throughout the course of the game. But the early goal gave them something to protect, when it should have been ruled out, yes we got lucky with their lack of finishing, but like Sheffield United's lack of discipline... that aint our problemWe then get the perfectly good goal chalked off, and would have potentially given us something to protectSwings and roundaboutsDoesn't deflect from the performance as a whole... Millwall did deserve it... At least having a proper Left-Back for 45mins meant that Campbell actually looked a proper threat going forwards, hopefully that'll now resonate with our home games, as thats where survival will always come from.
The ref got some big decisions wrong. Their goal marginally offside, they should have had a pen for Gilly’s handball, a foul/ handball against Dykes. Doesn’t detract from the fact we were poor and deserved to lose.1 -

So Ramsay 10/10 performance at Bristol City didn't happen and how good he was for most of the 1st 3 months of the season ?
It a joke the way CL fans turn on Kayne. Yes,
Ramsay had his 2nd Millwall nightmare of the season but he hasn't become a bad player over night despite how poor he has been today and recently.

It's fair to say that at the start of the season we were playing better than we should be, and that the early season form was never sustainable. But it's also fair to say that at the moment, we are now playing worse than we should be be with these players. The painful Sheffield United victory was a sign of how low in confidence we are, and how ordinary we look when attacking, but the 3 points masked the issues.Chippycafc said:Really cant put my finger on why we are so bad. At the start of the season (except QPR) we were competitive, played some nice football and created opportunities.
I went to Bristol City and Hull (as well as Sheff Utd) and we could easily have won on those former games. In the last half of this season we are so turgid. I expect to lose every game now. Even Derby were ordinary but had the extra needed to win that match.
Probably a bit of new division bounce and some late goals but we earnt that luck with our endeavour. The team look like their frightened to play football and almost look like they don't wont the responsibility of the ball and move it on to someone else to take responsibility.
Every week in the last few we have been wanting to move on to the next game to put it right. But it hasnt.
I don't want NJ sacked, but you can imagine we'd get a bit of short term new manager bounce under someone new, as something isn't right at the moment.2 -
There was a moment in the 2nd half when Burke had nobody around him and time on the ball…..passed it straight out of play…..I swear that is all he can do5

Injury has left him one tenth the player he was, it does happen.soapboxsam said:Brownie12 said:
