Ian Poveda is 167cm tall and his history looks like he's basically done nothing and hardly played at the age of 25. This guy better be iniesta and xavi combined
He is the size of 2 people apparently..

“ Poveda is a technician” - on what do you base this assertion, given his record over 8 years?

Charlton's final signing of the day was meant to be Sunderland winger Ian Poveda, but at the last minute Preston North End swooped in to sign him instead. Said a spokesperson for Preston "We haven't stolen a player from Charlton since the summer. We couldn't turn down this opportunity for a bit of bants." #cafc
    So wish this was true.

Have you seen him play? Look at his appearances for the England age groups and Man City Academy.

Did you see what he did at Sheffield Wednesday under Danny Rohl before he got injured?

He’s a technician on the basis he is great with the ball at his feet, great speed with the ball and can pick a pass.

He’s been injured and not found a run of games in a side that use him well. That doesn’t change the fact he’s a very technical player who once had a very bright future
  • I would have rather seen JRC go out on loan than Anderson . At least Anderson gives 100% and good to come on for the  15 minutes if you want to hang on to a lead rather than JRC who barely gets into a trot and has no pace at all.

Leaves us very one paced in midfield.

If no incomings then we have six players for three positions in the midfield.

Coventry and Coady in the 6. Docherty and JRC in the 8. Carey and Berry in the 10

    I make it 3

    Very Slow - Coady
    Slow - Costello
    Ok - Coventry and Docherty

you know what i now agree with the guy who said I hope poveda signs just to see the meltdown, so unnecessary

Just because it’s 9pm means nothing. We can announce a deal later or even in the morning as long as it’s done and dusted by 9pm.

Add in Fullah as a 10 option too. We’ve got more midfield options than we had last season and we managed fine then

Plus we’ve seen Jones got to a 3-4-2-1 at times recently so that could open up the attacking midfield positions to Fevrier and TC (and Poveda)

Anderson needs a loan, he’s currently not good enough for the Championship.

JRC has shown that he is, but he needs to show more consistency.
  • Must be someone coming now Anderson has gone. Cant see NJ leaving us short again after he voiced that we left ourselves short in the first half of the season.

He's been supplementing his income at Sunderland sixth form college helping out in the science labs.

I’m still more concerned about LWB than I am about central midfield. That’s the only position on the pitch where we don’t have 2 players who play there in their natural position

You’re going to have to give me your criteria for a meltdown, because this is a bit weird.
Is it by any chance, ‘Doesn’t agree with me’?

    Bloody marvellous that
  • If NJ has been sleeping at the training ground and eating nothing but pizza, is his new signing Oz Empic?

I have to say that both players had their best games against Oxford, Rankin Costello has not broke into the side up until that Oxford game, he also went under the radar of criticism from fans after the Millwall debacle, I don't think that Nathan Jones was not aware that Rankin Costello was missing in action in that game. For me Burke and Costello were poor signings, both for different reasons, whatever you think about Karoy Anderson, he has a chance to improve, so the loan is good for him.
