We needed a CM before Anderson left, to let him go without bringing one in just feels like we're setting up to fail.

“ Poveda is a technician” - on what do you base this assertion, given his record over 8 years?

What are we not seeing ?
Have you seen him play? Look at his appearances for the England age groups and Man City Academy.

Did you see what he did at Sheffield Wednesday under Danny Rohl before he got injured?

He’s a technician on the basis he is great with the ball at his feet, great speed with the ball and can pick a pass.

He’s been injured and not found a run of games in a side that use him well. That doesn’t change the fact he’s a very technical player who once had a very bright future
81 minutes on the pitch in 2 years ?

    ”once” means jack now.

This chap may be all the things you say, but on the evidence so far, he has not delivered.

That is why we give him a wide berth.
  • Assume we had all our eggs in the Sam Field basket. Should have made a move for him weeks ago if he was the man we wanted.

    Well... that was exciting
  • If we go down they all have blood on there hands not going strong to try and cement our place and stay up

    so short sighted ffs

Has the loan window also closed?

Given he's only moved today though, that could have been down to QPR though
Its always the worst aspect of the January Transfer Window, you need the dominos to fall

I know NJ loves Alan Mwamba as a prospect but that's another one like Fullah where we can't rely on academy kids.
  • Has the loan window also closed?
Yes... At least for incomings... We can still send kids to the National League or lower

Part of me hopes we sign Poveda, purely for the impending meltdown from a bunch of grown adults
    You are a strange man
    Found one of the meltdowners!
You’re going to have to give me your criteria for a meltdown, because this is a bit weird.
Is it by any chance, ‘Doesn’t agree with me’?
I would class the criteria of a meltdown as loads of people pretending they know how good Poveda is when in reality they haven't got a scooby. Flip it back to you, is it a bit weird that I'm not throwing my toys out the pram claiming I know more about the professional game as someone who goes and watches some football on a weekend, than a manager who does it day in day out?
No it’s not weird at all, but thanks for confirming that you don’t know what a meltdown is.
This is a bit weird if you ask me

Well if NJ is happy with what he has going forward, we as fans can do our bit supporting him and the team. The rest is now down to him and his coaches. Even if we disagree nothing can be done now. We always want more, let’s see if it’s enough.

Have they not then? - So many factors we don't know about... For example, people were certain that Docherty would be on his way out this month, because of the falling out with Jones

    CDM: Coventry, Coady
    8: Docherty, JRC
    10: Carey, Berry, Fullah

    Just seems far too lightweight

Coady, Coventry, Docherty, Rankin-Costello, Carey, Berry, Fullah.

We have options - likely enough to keep us up. There’ll be improvements to this group to come in the summer.
  • Disgusted with the owners for not taking the money for Mbick.

Fans deserve something to moan about but selfishly they haven't sold him so no "might as well close the academy" or "same old Charlton, selling players cheap" posts.

Typical yanks, no sense of tradition.
To be fair I've whinged about that one :D

Little bit concerned about lack of legs in midfield. Oh well additions have been positive this window
Don’t worry - we will play 2 defensive lines of 4 so no-one will get past us.

I think we will hoof the ball up to Miles and Lyndon and the cavalry will go in behind them.

It may become boring to watch, but the next 17 games are all about staying up

I am quite positive about staying in this division, if we can keep our players fit.

Come the summer, it will need a massive overhaul, in my opinion.

Coady is clearly going to be a midfielder for us, especially after we signed Collins Sichenje, brought back Zach Mitchell, and didn't sell/loan out any centre backs.

Our midfield isn't great, but then it wasn't spectacular when we had that excellent start to the season, and was nothing special last season. Coady, Coventry, Doc, JRC is enough bodies to fill the engine room places.

In the summer that's where I would like to see some investment.

Would say overall that’s an ok window. 2 main concerns we are left with is a lack of quality in midfield and a lack of numbers at LWB. Latter is more worrying for me as that’s been a much bigger reason for our struggles than the midfield

And now .... it's Free Agent time.

Who is rubbing their hands with anticipation and excitement as we unearth the next gem that nobody else wants?

Enough with the pizza analogies already.

Obvs there will be things we wont know but you cannot sit there and tell me we really have gone for it with our january signings most of which have barely played any football

compare it to the other teams around us and its a joke feels a wasted opportunity and risk

    typical letdown deadline day

I think realistically if we stay up you'd probably be losing Berry,Doc and Coady from that group immediately. Probably where for me I'd be looking for the most " expensive" signing would be a CM.

    Has Sterling gone anywhere yet?
