They barely celebrated. Peake had them terrified. We'll be seeing him in an Ashes series soon

The U19s was a cracking game of cricket. And a very high standard..there is hope for us in Ashes yet .

    Good fightback by England here.
Taking wickets at the right time.
  • My post made all the difference !

    Well done, lads !

Sri Lanka 97-6 with Jacks having the remarkable figures of 3-14 off his 4 overs. Remarkable because he only had 4 lifetime wickets previously from 31 T20Is

He also should have had a 4th wicket lbw.
But we never used a review.

Jacks has the ability to develop into a genuine all rounder.

England have been squeezing very well. Sri Lanka are now 112-8 and needing 17 off 14 balls.

If Jacks was remarkable then Bethell is too with 3 wickets in the same over. It has to be said that the ball has been turning square.

16 off 12 balls needed with the one wicket in hand,

115 all out. Bethell gets the final wicket to return 4-10 off 3.1 and England win by 13 runs. Excellent game and a great fightback.

Reviewed though and the batter clearly hits it.

The three players not to receive MOM from Curran (58), Jacks (3-14), Bethell (4-11) and Cheemera (5-24) are going to consider themselves slightly unfortunate. It should go to Curran because he scored 32 more than any other batter in the game.

So we gave Wood a run out but not Tongue. Just hope we don't have to call on him in the WC.

Nice to see English spinners turning it a mile, and bamboozling Asian batsmen in their back yard.

A very impressive bowling and fielding performance. Brook managed the bowlers well too, quickly realising that the spinners were the key.

It doesn't happen all the time but the two best and unbeaten sides will contest the U19 WC. India are 293-2 chasing a target of 311 against Afghanistan.

He's documented as actually being 17. His own words. It's on Youtube, he gives his birthdate as 2.5 years before it's official.

That said, he's still a ridiculous talent for 17. And he's at least still eligible for this tournament, unlike, hmm, let's go with some of this Afghanistan team ;)

Saw him at Chelmsford back in the summer.
The young Fella is a unit for 14 and will be an absolute superstar!

Brendan Taylor of Zimbabwe played in the very first WC T20, some 19 years ago in 2007. He is also in the squad for the one shortly to begin. No other player is in that position.

The final of the U19 WC is upon us. India have won the toss and elected to bat.

Alex Green comes in for Alex French in an otherwise unchanged England side. India have selected the same side that beat Afghanistan.

An early breakthrough for England but since then it's been one-way traffic - from 20-1 (4) to 79-1 (10)
