    NJ's reaction was a bit ridiculous though. It was hardly unusual abuse, or anything unacceptable. 

    Quite bizarre to shout at the away fans, then virtually storm off the pitch, instead of walking slowly around the pitch with the players to celebrate the victory. 
    I know what you mean, but I'm sure that goes back much further than tonight.

    Great win - love NJ - fuck stoke, fuck shawcross - both have been told to fuck off and both can grizzle about it all they like - we won and NJ rubbed it it right in - good on him - on to pompey and southampton next to do the same and then next year for a few more to get it -  COYR !!!!

    Big, big win. The way the January signings have transformed the team and our season in such a short space of time is quite astonishing. As things stand, I genuinely think it’s time to stop looking over our shoulder and focus on those above us. Personally, I think aiming at overtaking Stoke is a perfectly achievable target.

    He didn't look like the player who was here 3 seasons ago. Back then I would have put my house on him burying that second chance. 

    Whether it was his time abroad or something else I don't know but it looked like he couldn't be bothered at times.

    Not seen it mentioned on here tonight.......the ref.

    I thought he had a great game - let lots of little things go & the game was better for it. No stop start for little fouls or pushes and played on when other refs would have blown. One of the best I've seen for some time.

    Apart for the silly yellow cards at corners - wtf was that all about ?? A little pushing & shoving and suddenly 2 players get booked. Not once but twice he did it. Weird.

    But I'd have him again over many others.

    He was my fav player at the time when he was was here but that's just vile.

    I am not referring to when he was our player I am just saying when he went of, he just headed to the subs bench and didn't clap the home support.  If I missed it (even if there was a moment with him and our fans at the end of the match), and he did, then I apologies.

    I want him to come back (and by your comment I am sure you do too), but I am just wondering if he has moved on.

    When you look at the bigger picture, our overall form in that time is W4 D3 L4, which is nothing to be concerned about. 

    Two teams deservedly got players sent off against us. That's their fault and part of the game. Using it as a "data point" to create a narrative that we can't beat 11 players is nonsense considering we have 10 wins this season from 31 games.

    A big 3 points though it looked once again our failure to take our chances in that first 15 minutes last night was going to cost us until the introduction of Campbell.

    Just under 15,000 given out as the attendance. 1100 Stoke plus our 12500 season ticket holders meant a poor walk up last night on match day sales. 

    3 home games in a row goes to show that people have not got it 

    A lot of revenue lost last night with the fixture being moved from a Saturday.

    3 matches in a fortnight at home is also £100, its not always possible. People may have to pick and choose, and the weather and form becomes factors. Plus dont forget the Ice Dance was on last night :p

    Not beyond the realms of possibility to think that if we'd had the current back 3 fit and available all season, along with Edwards, then we'd probably be at least 7-8 points better off and already close to safety.
    7-8 points better off would have us anywhere between 6th and 11th right now. No relegation fight and we'd be looking at a huge overachieving season.

    Thought he was good too. A lot of challenges that 90% of refs would give a foul and he didn’t, which made the game better to watch but the most important thing was he was consistent about it all game and barely gave any soft ones 

    Played into our hands too as our backline bullied their much smaller front players

    I have quite enjoyed both low scoring games so far in this mini home run.  Entertaining and we have created more chances than recent.  

    It just goes to show Nathan’s game plan is predicated on ACTUAL wingbacks.  Get 2 in, we are transformed.  

    It is therefore an error in recruitment that we left ourselves completely exposed on the left and partially exposed on the right for wingbacks and has to be our priority to resolve in the summer with some perms.  

    Let’s smash Pompey now and get to 8 points from safety with 14 games to play.

    I should think the Liverpool people must be well happy with the apprenticeship Chambers is receiving. 

    Whilst experiencing the heat of the Championship, he has the cool heads and experience of Bell, Coady and Lloyd around him.  Unlike Gallagher when he was here - surrounded by youth team players.

    Agreed. Chambers and Clarke are brilliant going forwards, the quality of crosses they put in for Dykes are a massive upgrade on what we had previously.
