He just doesn't do the basics very well. Doesn't command his area, distribution poor and prone to a real clanger like tonight. He has kept clean sheets but I don't think he has ever saved a game for us .Time to give Mannion a go5
-
When was the last time we had a keeper directly at fault for this many goals in a season?

Blokes gash, said this a while back and got slautered, but I think he needs dropping, no better than Mannion3
-
Not a fan at all. Whichever division we are in next year I would like a different number one. Him, Tanto, Apter, Knibbs, Kelman, JRC all seem such poor business for this club.3
-
There’s just nothing about him that justifies him being the top earner at the club IMO.
I think we’d be achieving the same results, if not better, with Mannion starting.6 -
Bell had a bit of an off night tonight and it totally exposed Kaminski’s weaknesses again. Think the clean sheets are more down to the defence if we analyse it properly.5

He is shit1
-
Think he is a poor keeper can’t give defence any confidence with his lack of bottle to come for crosses.1

This with bells on, recruitment in the summer by and large has been woeful.Athletico Charlton said:Not a fan at all. Whichever division we are in next year I would like a different number one. Him, Tanto, Apter, Knibbs, Kelman, JRC all seem such poor business for this club.3 -
And that list missed the biggest Burke of them all.J BLOCK said:

List also misses off Bell and Carey who have been 2 of our best players this season. You'd expect a better hit rate for sure but not every signing has been awful1

Thanks - can you share a link please? It’s good to have a proper source to corroborate what I feel.Chunes said:18th in the league for Goals Prevented with -4.4
For comparison, Pompey's goalkeeper is 5th with +3.4

The goalkeeping equivalent of Chris Gunther - a signing that looked great on paper, but his head/heart clearly not in it.

Yup, that is a classic.O-Randy-Hunt said:

He’s like the bloke in the Corrs no one is sure what he’s doing there, doesn’t seem to add much value but takes the plaudits of everyone else’s hard work.Makes so many simple errors must have cost us as many goals as he’s saved.4

Either very good or very poor averages out to be absolutely mid. Zero harm in giving Mannion a game0
-
Really think he needs to be dropped now,too many mistakes. Mannion deserves his chance.1
-
Absolute clanger tonight. For me he has credit in the bank (just) but honestly don’t see a problem if we played mannion.1
-
Just a shit keeper. And it’s an absolute piss take to the defence who have been so solid over the last 3 games.0
-
Dropped a clanger in his first game when he gave away a stonewall penalty in stoppage time against Watford, got a major let off as the ref had some evening up to do. Since then it's been a few decent saves here and there papering over a pretty unreliable season.0

Surely his wages would be better spent elsewhere. Despite some good games recently, you expect consistency for rhat kind of wage. I gave up on him at Stoke. I was right behind those crosses he let in and it was piss poor for a man on £19k a week. After tonight I want him out and sold given away at the end of the season. Surely Mannion must have a chance. I don't want to hear his song again. He is very much not magic.0

And they say lightning doesn’t strike twice (or every other game in this case)VanbrughHill said:Was stood right behind him in the first half and had an absolute shocker. MacGillivray and loads on here thought that he was good too.Croydon said:When was the last time we had a keeper directly at fault for this many goals in a season?0 -
He was poor tonight. Don't think Mannion is any better.3

Interested to know where the credit in the bank comes from? I genuinely can’t remember many instances of him gaining us points.Diebythesword said:Absolute clanger tonight. For me he has credit in the bank (just) but honestly don’t see a problem if we played mannion.0 -
He’s been absolutely shite all season, he doesn’t pass the eye test at all. Even when he has a “good game”, every save he makes would be a criminal goal to let in.Countless examples of him dropping balls, not coming for crosses, shots going through him.Think of our number 1 keepers over the last 10 years; he’s in the bottom three, if not worse. Apparently the highest earner at the club, what a joke.0

He's either making great one on one saves or let's in a few too many long range shots. Yet he still has 11 clean sheets0
-
Been multiple times he’s kept us in games with great saves. He was shocking tonight (incl should’ve done better for the third being beaten at his near post) but let’s not pretend he hasn’t made big saves for us at times this season.ns9 said:

Clean sheets are not gained solely because of a goalkeeper.BigRedEvil said:He's either making great one on one saves or let's in a few too many long range shots. Yet he still has 11 clean sheets4 -
My view is that he has made good saves in games we’ve gone on to lose anyway. He made a good one to keep our point at home against Cov, and the one at the end against QPR was decent. But the vast majority of keepers in the Championship make the saves he does. And I hate to labour the point, but the Millwall equaliser in the home game was one he should’ve savedDiebythesword said:
