Michail Antonio (not) set to sign (pg 21)

Probably threw in a couple of formula one prototypes to seal the deal2
-
Can’t say I’m that bothered. If he’d joined he’d have probably not been fit for a few more weeks, made a couple of sub appearances, then broken down with a minor injury keeping him out till end March at least before a couple more sub appearances.0
-
Obviously about money and that’s fine, if he was that committed to us it would have happened if we wanted him.Hopefully the club have told him to do one. Only want players that really want to be at Charlton.4
-
The experience would be good but if goes to Qatar then so be it. Let him enjoy his last pay day.2
-
Might also be down to the fact that we've decided the risk isn't worth it4
-
Yes agree, he might not be able to get fit enough for champ football, and we’ve pulled the plug🤷🏻♂️king addick said:The experience would be good but if goes to Qatar then so be it. Let him enjoy his last pay day.1 -
Not bothered by missing out on him. If that's the quality of other teams in for him, we're better off without him.
We've had far too many players here for one last paycheck who've been a waste of time.5 -
He watched the pompey game and thought nah thanks3
-
If that's genuinely the inside of a football ground, the game is most definitely dead. Looks like they're watch the lawn bowls ffs -

Just to give you a gist of what they are saying 'a Nathan Jones type player', who 'is a positive indvidual' and 'will come off the bench (so won't start).

I'd be very careful if I were him!

It would sort of fit with what my Sheffield Wednesday friend said, that he moved to Nottingham Forest with 100% his best interests at heart (as is 100% his right).DDOUBLEE said:
He hasn't even been seen at The Valley. Doesn't look likely now personally.ForeverAddickted said:
Charlton couldn't and shouldn't compete with the wages Qatar could offer him.

Lucky MA did turn up, must get a bit lonely watching football there.2 -

Trying to work out if this is a sarcastic post as there were plenty of times we chickened out of tackles yesterday, especially more so in comparison to their opposite numbers.soapboxsam said:IR94 said:We need him, well anyone, we need another signing, least he will put some effort in
No lack of effort against Pompey as we didn't chicken out of tackles and that's why we accumulated 7 yellows other than Harry Clarke who was frustrated and kicked the ball away.
We were outplayed after the first minute until the 45th but I didn't see a lack of effort but did see basic errors in passing and control of the ball when we were not chasing shadows.
My point was other than Harry Clarke after 7 minutes kicking the ball away the bookings were for mistimed tackles and surely you noticed that. Clarke was then inhibited to make tackles as was Chambers who was carded after 13 minutes.
We were outplayed and out passed in the 1st half but I don't think we chickened out of tackles other than the players who had already been booked for obvious reasons. That must've been the record amount of bookings and fouls given against CAFC in my memory !
You saw what happened with Leaburn and Jones every time they went into challenges with the opposition.
In that 1st half we resembles a struggling League 2 club and made Pompey "look like Brazil".

Thats exactly the sort of game we could of done with antonio the last 15 mins, just to get us up the park and hold onto the ball " come on get it done"2

Leaburn managed well at doing the job today issue was the other forward we brought on forgot which shirt Charlton play inFAVADDICK said:Thats exactly the sort of game we could of done with antonio the last 15 mins, just to get us up the park and hold onto the ball " come on get it done"3 -
Latest update - “no idea what’s going on. It’s a very strange one”. The club were looking at housing for him a few days ago next minute he’s in Qatari I don’t blame him for chasing a final pay day tbh if he does end up there7

Antonio on his Instagram story on a dinner plate with a piece of cake on it:

Bit bizarre that he’s not played for anyone all season and now 2 clubs are interested1

Looking at housing for a multi millionaire who has played the last 10 years down the road at West Ham?stjohnshill said:Latest update - “no idea what’s going on. It’s a very strange one”. Maybe he wants one this side of the river because of the blackwall tunnel charge.Valley11 said:

I pass on what I get told. My source is very reliable. Antonio lives in Essex so not far away but maybe he wants something closer for a couple of nights a weekValley11 said:

ONCE A HAMMER ALWAYS A HAMMERIt's not like joining Charlton is not going to make you a Spanner. Look at the (name of the) East stand of both grounds (The Valley and London Stadium), it not like both individuals played for both clubs 🙄I guess that is case and point then.DDOUBLEE said:

Well he doesn’t want a difficult drive to work does he 😉😀Valley11 said:

Did you know it only charges peak time northbound? Scandalous, there should be an enquiry…Steven81 said:

Suspect he needed to live close enough that he might not need to drive himself and can either be picked up by players or get a short taxi ride

So is this still happening or is it dead in the water. Don’t fully understand why Antonio would want to drag this out.0
-
Jokes aside - this could very well be the reason. Do we know if he's even back driving yet?valleynick66 said:

No idea. But again all jokes aside helping players settle in / find somewhere to live is perfectly normal isn’t it? Isn’t that exactly the sort of thing Tracey Leaburn did?Gribbo said:

Eh?I’m not sure the player watching a game overseas is confirmation of anything currently.PS if he is apprehensive about driving then the Five Ways junction en route to Sparrows Lane may be a step too far ! 😉0
