Genuine debate he would have been our POTY if he was fit all season. Even with his injury issues still think he’s easily 3rd behind Jones and Carey

Our record when Bell plays at least 60 minutes:

    W5 D6 L3 (1.50 pts/game, 14 games)

Our record when Bell plays less than 60 minutes:

    W3 D2 L9 (0.79 pts/game, 14 games)
The points per game goes up today, makes such a difference
Our record when Bell plays at least 60 minutes:

    W6 D6 L3 (1.60 pts/game, 15 games)
  • If Bell can stay fit till the end of March, we’ll be safe by then and can start thinking about planning for next season

Still thoroughly confused what his injury is. He could barely walk when he left the pitch v Chelsea and in a couple of weeks he is back.

Club said hamstring. I’m guessing the cold made it feel worse

He has been very good every time he plays.
    He is so composed.
Agree with the POTY comment if he had been fully fit all season.

Yeah he does need a song 100.

Same tune as "Oh Thomas Kaminski... Oh Thomas Kaminski"

    'No Amari, No Party!
    No Amari, No Party!"

The obvious choice for a song is to sing Amari'i Bell to the tune of You Can Ring My Bell.

    Just.... checking....

I was amazed to see him go to left back in a 4 late on Saturday up against Fatawu...

Thought it would put him ar risk of injury again. Fatawu had been getting on the ball and causing problems (inc. Pen) with both Chambers and Bell covering him so I was worried about him matching up against just Bell.

As it was, for tactical reasons beyond my comprehension our subs and formation switch neutralised all of Leicster's threat, Fatawu included.

Was anybody else shocked/worried about that at the time? Or was it just me?

I wasn't particularly worried about injury as LB is very different to LWB. Our wide centre backs are almost playing at fullback anyway a lot of the time.

If I remember right we switched to having a winger (TC) in front of him who could do his running for him and also give the fullback in front of him more of a job. We then swapped them over so Fevrier was on the left and pulling the opposition fullback wider because of Fevrier's stronger foot. It was all quite clever and subtle I thought

Covered End will never reach the high notes on that.
  • He already has a song - The Tony Watt chant, just doesn't get too many airings, as he's been out.

What I thought but couldn't be bothered to type.
It's amazing the ridiculous suggestions made for sings.

Come now. We just have to change the key from an F minor, down 4 semitones to C minor - well within the average geezer's shouting range. The Covered End are already astute at altering song dynamics, having seamlessly change the tempo of The Mull of Kintyre from 50bpm to 3,000bpm.

Should email the club to get them to play the instrumental before games or at half time to get the right BPM

I remember the last time they tried this and the Covered End just sang over the top of it even faster than normal, and started clapping themselves as "The Mist Rolling In From The Thames" line was still playing 🤦🏻‍♂️

Our fans sing quicker than some of our players can run.

When fit and on-song, Bell is like having a midfielder in defence who can actually defend!

In terms of style, I can only think of Marcelo that he reminds me of. His career path has been interesting, not as high as many might think. I'd love for us to use him wisely for another couple of years.

I feel once you apply the Lloyd Jones tax, this guy has been cheated out of at least 5 Statbank MOTMs this season lol.

Anyway, he's my POTS and it isn't close. Even our goal yesterday was 75% him creating the situation from nothing

    Proper quality.
    32 in May.
Would cost £5m plus to buy a 10 years younger version.

Got to agree that Bell is a class footballer.
If we had three or four players like him, but 24years old in our squad we would be in the top six.
  • Whats our win / draw percentage when he plays, compared with when he's been injured?

Makes it weirder that Luton fans have said his legs had completely gone. Obviously had his injury issues but still looks incredibly mobile and quick. Hopefully we get another bell type LCB this summer

If we got another LCB in over the summer AND kept Bell around - it would mean we could use him wisely and not overplay him. Definitely see value from him next season if we stay up and look to push on.

Can throw that trope in with ‘lost the dressing room’ or ‘no passion’ when football fans are searching for reasons to poor performances/not be as good as the other teams you come up against.

To be fair I think most of those comments were just them saying that he didn't have the legs to play as a marauding wingback attacking and defending anymore as opposed to saying he couldn't move. I think some good old fashioned Charlton Life negativity might have overstated some of that
