  • Just putting it out there now, but don't immediately expect a Match Preview from me for the Wrexham game
I've got Surgery to remove a Hernia on Wednesday, so will all depend on how I'm feeling come Thursday / Friday
    Good luck FA.

At least you'll have an excuse to be late with the goal updates on Saturday ...

West Brom are no wins in 6, i'm hoping for an early goal and the home fans turn on them.

West Brom are obviously struggling but we don't pick up many points away from The Valley. It is a massive game for them.

1 goal in 5 too, hopefully we extend that!
  • Feeling nervous about this one and can see us fucking it up. 2-1 defeat.

0-0 or 1-1 is the ceiling of my expectations, but expecting something in the midrange so 3-0 to West Brom feels more reliable as predictions go.

I'm hopeful that we're playing West Brom at the right time and our match will be the last poor performance of a miserable period, and that Ramsay will be swiftly sacked come 1030pm Tuesday.

It will be interesting to see how much Saturday took out of the players. Sichenje was cramping up and a short recovery time would lead me to think he will drop out for Clarke, with Ramsay shifting back to RCB. If we weren't playing Wrexham on Saturday I would've thought that Coady may be due a rest, but it probably doesn't make sense to do so with that being enforced at the weekend.

I can see the appeal of going with Leaburn and Dykes. Partly based off Leaburn's cameo at the weekend, but also West Brom's limited options at CB. If they have to go with Charlie Taylor in the middle this could be a good aerial target for us, but reports suggest they may bring Nat Phillips back. However, that partnership was so bad first half v Pompey that I would stick with TC alongside Dykes. Especially since it seems that West Brom have been having issues on their right hand side of late, it could be a good chance for TC. Leaburn to be an option around the hour mark.

So, for me, Clarke in for Sichenje with the rest unchanged barring any unknown injuries or fatigue-related issues.

As with every single one of our games the first goal is crucial. If we can get it and create unrest in the stadium then I back us to see it out. At least we have displayed at the weekend that we have the ability to drag ourselves back into games, even with limited opportunities.

    West Brom 0-2 Charlton
We could meet any team at the perfect time and still find a way to cock it up!!🙄

0-0 written all over this, which would suit us (as long as their form continues for the rest of the season)

Would love a 0-2 away win, settle our potential relegation woes and pretty much 90% guarantee us playing championship football next season. But neither us nor west brom exactly score goals and both teams will be desperate not to lose.

I'll join the others in hoping your hernia gets sorted FA

The game .. WBA have rarely been so low like neighbours Wolves, the club is in a state that will be hard to resolve
This is a good time to play them, their recent form is abysmal.
Against Coventry they were undone by Coventry's 2 superb goals, but overall, they didn't look totally shabby

After the terrific performance at the Saints, our confidence will be high. We'll need to be as good as that against WBA
This won't be easy, I expect us to get at least a point, a vital one against another outfit striving to avoid the drop

Good luck with the op, FA....
Perhaps we can at last score more than one goal again, Dykes and Kelman looking to be the most potent pairing. Fevrier could be a positive surprise package, with Carey lurking in the 10 spot. Sichenje again, perhaps with a lower-risk tackle warning?  Master stroke by CAFC marketing to remind the Kenyan support of the paid live-stream option on Saturday!

If our luck holds 1-1, I still feel we are too inconsistent a squad to feel confident of getting a win , the weakness is the  lack of quality in the squad over all, so players have to work their socks off in each game and then are fucked for the next.

Think I'd start pretty much the same team but replace Campbell for Leaburn instead.

Hope that kills you but think we will win this. Someone else mentioned it but if we get that early goal then think WBA will collapse.

    WBA 0 - Charlton 2 (Dykes and L.Jones)

Good luck with op mate doesn’t surprise me though with all the heavy lifting you’ve had to do over the years, keeping people’s chins up on here 😉

Another away game we were putting down as a defeat when the fixtures come out .. but West Brom find themselves in the bottom 4 and could be 9 points behind us after tomorrow’s game . What’s gone wrong who knows but they still have premiership players in their squad so it’s going to be very difficult … suppose this game could be any of the 3 results possible … I think we need to attack this game a bit more whether he will being Clarke back in ?? Think Leaburn will come in for Campbell after his latest experiment on Saturday failed …

Going for another draw … but would not be to surprised with WB won by the odd goal

One thing for sure if we do win there be another manager looking for a job at 10pm

I think Clarke and Leaburn will start instead of Sichenje and Campbell. Big ask for the new lad to start twice and TC has been very effective from the bench against tiring opponents. Agree with others this is a must not lose game

0-1 not one for the purists but I don't care away win. Leaburn winner.

In a weird situation where a win probably ends in their manager getting sacked and WBA maybe going on a run with a new manager bounce
  • Away win, 0-2 , an evening of total football awaits.

I am to blame for the whole 'must win' thing, but even I am saying a point would be perfectly acceptable here.

Just got to keep them at arms length.

Our record in these kinds of games over the years is less than stellar, and once again, the positive predictions feel like only one outcome is likely.

Either way I am at a work event so will (i am sure you will be thankful) not be following on the match thread. I have a feeling I know what kind of post match thread I will be popping into when I get home, but either way, a point would be a great one. Lets hope we can get it as a minimum.

Personally don't want to see Leaburn and Dykes, said on the post match Pompey thread, they both have their merits but in my opinion not what we need starting a game.

I would be happy with any other combination. Kelman not started a game since QPR, and he and Dykes I think did OK together in a first half that we dominated and somehow didn't score. I would like to start with those two, unchanged in the middle plus Clarke back in.

This is the big one for me. Win and I think we're pretty much safe (partially because I don't expect Jones to ever settle for that opinion).

With the cramping up at the end and the desire to see us a little more attacking this time out, I would expect Clarke to come back in at RWB and the mad Kenyan to return to the bench.

It would be such a massive game to win and we couldn't have asked to play against a team in worse form.
