😂 don’t get me wrong the ideas are fine and it’s nice to be able to get some charlton goodies, but just take a bit of time and concentrate on doing stuff with quality, might even sell more.🤷🏻♂️Markg2004 said:I'll raise you the safety net in the jigsaw and show you the full edge to edge printing on the tea towels...

https://www.charltonafc.com/news/new-reebok-classic-collection-available-nowHow I yearn for some old-skool Adidas stuff.6 -
Still waiting on kids shirts that were going to be available in 8 weeks... 7 months ago. Saved me a small fortune though to be fair as it meant I didn't get any for me either. Our next shirts will probably a England kit for the WC now.

The Valley Superstore and Bluewater store will both temporarily close this week to allow the club’s retail team to complete a scheduled stocktake.
Both locations will be closed on Wednesday, February 25th and Thursday, February 26th, before returning to normal operation on Friday, February 27th.
The online club shop will close at 11pm on Monday, February 23rd and will then reopen at 12am on Friday.

This isn't the first time this season they've closed for a stocktake. Do other shops do this? Surely in 2026 it must be possible to keep track of stock without closing down the club's entire retail operation?4

guess its because they now have two stores with shared stock between the two sites.Gillis said:This isn't the first time this season they've closed for a stocktake. Do other shops do this? They could use perpetual inventory system where they wouldn’t need to close down, basically you take a small section on every occasion, but you count on a regular basis.Gillis said:This isn't the first time this season they've closed for a stocktake. How much stock do we actually have that needs reconciling again already?
I think they are going to conclude we just don’t sell that much.2 -
As I’ve had a career of nearly 35 years in retail, different forms of retail, what percentage of sales are online sales, compared to things physically bought.
Ie 90% online, 10 in the shop.
If the website had a better usability, the percentage would be a lot higher, and they could maximize revenue more, just my thoughts, what do I know.
Ive probably dealt with 40,000 SkU’s a year, (different lines) which have changed to reflect the times, some line are bread and butter , and you never run out of them, others are seasonal, which you don’t want too much of, maybe I should get a job at Charlton / do some consultancy work for free for Charlton.9 -

I presume “12am on Friday” doesn’t actually mean “12am on Friday” rather “12pm on Friday”?clive said:The Valley Superstore and Bluewater store will both temporarily close this week to allow the club’s retail team to complete a scheduled stocktake.

Needed to get something for someone today and unable to get to the physical shops and it’s still not re-open online.
I assume this is the same person who’s done the timings for the Valley Express for Middlesbrough who’ll be allegedly picking people up from Dartford, Bexleyheath et al 19 hours before kick off.2 -
So the shop has reopened, 2nd and 3rd kits are reduced in price, does that mean that we will be keeping the home shirt for another season ?0
-
They’ve been reduced for a few weeks, would imagine the home ones aren’t far off.shine166 said:So the shop has reopened, 2nd and 3rd kits are reduced in price, does that mean that we will be keeping the home shirt for another season ?
My gripe is this supposed “stocktake” has resulted in zero material changes to any of the sizings of the kits or training gear so god knows what they’ve been doing on that front.2 -

If you want anything in a Large Men’s then there is very minimal stock left after having a look through the Online Store last night.VanbrughHill said:

Has anyone by any chance been to the shop in Bluewater within the last week and seen what sort of sizes are available? Before anyone suggests I contact the club, the last time I did so I was told they didn’t have the size I wanted only for me to find it in there 2 hours later.0
-
Tried twice to go to the Bluewater shop when I’ve been back down. Normal retail hours, closed both times.

Stocktaking just means you physically count the stock, and check those numbers against your book stock. So seeing how much it's "shrunk" ie been stolen or mispriced for accounting purposes. It doesn't involve ordering any physical more.VanbrughHill said:

Well aware of this - but the last 2/3 times this was done it resulted in restocking of sizes. I’ve even been told by the shop that there is “stock” always held back and is replaced periodically. I find it impossible that the third shirt (as an example) has no sizes under 3XL despite it being half price.gringo said:
