Yes agree, a player knows if it’s cramp or not and he waved immediately to the bench.Weegie Addick said:Jones post-match admits he picked up a little injury and we’ll have to see - that doesn’t sound like cramp, I’m afraid.1 -
... yet our amazing medical team/manager told him to play on.

This is why we can't have nice things...2

Let's see if hes available against brum before we decide if they made the correct decision. Twice he signalled to come off and we know hes picked up a injury.Sword65pf said:
They were better qualified to make that decision I’d say, not quite sure why people are so ready to put the boot into whatever they can about the club, manager.shine166 said:... yet our amazing medical team/manager told him to play on.
Many times this season injured players have been rushed back and miss more games, let's hope this doesn't bite us on the arse as he was quality yesterday.3 -
I’m not a medical expert myself but Steve Brown on comms, who’ll know about this stuff having played for years, said if his hamstring’s gone then it would be physically impossible for him to continue, let alone get up and down the pitch like he did, hobbled or not.7

Hopefully see him against brum then, for me hes #2 pick on the team sheet after Jones.Callumcafc said:I’m not a medical expert myself but Steve Brown on comms, who’ll know about this stuff having played for years, said if his hamstring’s gone then it would be physically impossible for him to continue, let alone get up and down the pitch like he did, hobbled or not.0 -
Remeber Collins is on Ramadan so dehydration, and cramp, are highly possible.
I believe Jones was just telling him to stay around up front and be a nuisance since we had a couple of minutes to play and were still chasing the game9 -
Both actually - we had brought Gillesphey on as fifth sub already and used our slots.SteveACS said:
I don't think we had a choice. We hadn't used all our subs, but I think we'd used all the breaks in play we were allowed.shine166 said:... yet our amazing medical team/manager told him to play on.

Have a day off. What are they supposed to have done differently? He wasn't started, presumably to rest him and avoid overloading him. But after 11 minutes our starting centre back - who himself is coming back from an injury lay off - gets injured again. So the realistic options are: Chambers (another player who has been playing a lot lately after a long injury lay off) and move the whole back line around, or Collins.mendonca said:“He has done well. He picked up a little injury today and we’re hoping that is not too bad.”
It's on the management team if so!
He played brilliantly, and then got injured making a 60yard run with the ball in the dying minutes of the game. Injuries happen and we don't have a bottomless squad of centre backs, I'm not sure how you can blame the 'management team' for that.8 -
My point was referring to when he signalled hamstring pain and was still told to finish the match. Cramps or niggles can turn into something worse, and I’m probably being over‑protective because the last thing we need is an overuse issue for Collins, Lloyd or Bell.Point made. It’s Monday, and I clearly need to “have a day off”. 🤣0

Chambers wasn't an option anyway. As you say, he's coming back off an injury and Liverpool told us they were not happy as he had been playing too many minutes. He was never going to feature in that game for that reason.elbiglad said:

But what is the alternative option?mendonca said:My point was referring to when he signalled hamstring pain and was still told to finish the match. In the case of Sichenje the option is Ramsay moves back to RCB, that’s fine. And actually Gough was fine when he came in and Mitchell could easily be too. At some point you need to play the U21s and play them in pressurised scenarios otherwise you don’t know how good/bad they arestoneroses19 said:

Sure, but 1-0 down to a physical team and balancing between trying to equalise/not concede a 2nd is pro, bably not the scenario, especially when every point is crucial.fenaddick said:

If the game/season wasn't at a potential tipping point then maybe we could look the academy more, hopefully we will eventually get to a position where that can happen.0 -
We still have Clarke Ramsay Jones Bell Chambers as a Back 5. Then have Macca and Coady who can also fill in there. Don’t know how bad Sichenje is but should be fine before we need to start worrying about throwing U21’s into the deep endthenewbie said:

Could you send him to Coventry please?Leuth said:
I still gave Coventry only 6.5 in Player Marks okay what do you want a full condemnation of his actionsfenaddick said:

Everyone on here wants Coventry put in a bin and the bin put in the sea and the sea covered with oil and set on fire cos he misplaced a couple of passes, so probably they'd simply play both of thempeterreeves said:Would people play him next week instead of bringing back Coady? Didn't spot him in the training video today, so I assume he's going to be out on Saturday?0
