First one for months yesterday, realised how much I enjoyed it. Wore my trail shoes so motored past everyone on the muddy and slippery bits!

Gutted @InspectorSands to get a cancellation on a travel one :-(

Ground was a little firmer yesterday with a couple of careful corners. Felt a better run than the time indicated, though was a depressing being comfortably overtaken by a woman actively texting às she was running.

    Love Parkrun

It wasn't so bad as I was over for St Pauli v Werder Bremen, and I've done Alstervorland a few times now, but slightly annoying as a lie-in would have been nice, and I'd taken two sets of running gear because I wasn't sure how the weather would be! I'll be back there in the spring!

Yeah sorry to hear that Inspector.

I'm in Osaka and got my Japanese tick, Hattori Ryokuchi is very hilly and includes some bamboo woodland. It had a fast crowd, 36 minutes for the tail walker is the quickest I've seen.

76th different location for parkrun today.
I was shit though, can’t help but stop and walk around all the muddy bits in this weather to save being that guy that falls over and goes home brown….

I admire your ability to get up early on a Saturday morning to travel. I’m on 3 venues!

Out last night so skipped this morning

I ventured over to the continent at the weekend and managed to fit in Milano Nord parkrun. A nice flat two lapper around a park. Things were going well until my Mrs decided she needed a wee, 10 mins in, and ran behind some bushes. This cost us valuable drinking time as the Italians had laid on Prosecco and biscuits at the finish for everyone.
There were over two hundred runners, which was the most I'd ever seen at a parkrun outside of the UK.
A really friendly parkrun that I would recommend, not just for the refreshments afterwards!

Another random Suffolk one this week.
Going around rugby pitches just gives me bad memories of school.
Might try a castle next week instead

I was in Brighton so did Bevendean Down - it's one I'd always wanted to do, as it's regularly one of the quietest UK parkruns with an average of 40 each week, so I was curious about why it was so quiet when its neighbouring runs get hundreds.

It's tucked away behind a housing estate on the outskirts of Brighton, on the edge of the South Downs - the Amex stadium is on the other side of the hill.

It's very hilly - It reminded me of Lullingstone. It's two laps around a field, which must be pretty dispiriting if the weather's lousy, but I lucked out. Most of the people who do it are proper cross-country runners who left me for dust. Still, I told myself I'd bagged a top 50 finish (by coming 47th out of 49).

If you get a good day, even if you struggle with the hill, you'll be rewarded with great views out to the sea. The volunteers were great too. Well worth doing if you get the chance to experience a different kind of parkrun.

I did Foots Cray yesterday, as my friend was RD and we thought we'd go along and show him a bit of support.
We were still on the winter course, luckily it was quite firm under foot, and my other half managed to run a PB!
Super friendly as usual and a nice place for refreshments after in Penelope's.  A lovely way to start your Saturday.

29 minutes and 38 seconds in VM50-54 category this morning.

Not a cloud in the sky but a strong cold wind to content with and no joke running into it for the last 300 metres.

Last km i run in 5 minutes so maybe my pace was a bit slow for the first 4 Km

Annoyingly my watch only captured 200m of it and this week they are later sending out results.

Glorious morning for it. Was out all evening straight from work so impressed I motivated myself to get up and out

doing the Battersea 10km this weekend, weather doesn't look great but I hear the course is flat so hopefully a chance for a PB

I seem to recall it’s in Battersea Park so yes totally flat and all on paving.
It’s not twice the parkrun course though, it’s something like 2-3 laps of the “outer orbit” I think, whereas the parkrun is just two laps of an inner quadranty thing….you're welcome 😜

yes I looked at the map on strava and looks to be starting on an athletics track, 4 loops and finishing on the track also.

480 runners in the 10km starting at 11:45 and almost 700 running the half marathon an hour before so expect it to be busy!

They get between 800-1200 for a parkrun usually, you’ll be fine….

I ran Kew Gardens Half last Sunday, lovely course and well organised. It was a proper race prep for London marathon, I followed the sub 1:45 pacers and was pleased with a 1:44 pb.
Sarah one of the pacers is running Boston in a couple of weeks time, I would never manage to achieve the qualifying time so good luck to her.

Perfect running conditions. Jnr hit a new PB and I managed my fastest since Nov 24.

    A good morning

Stayed over after the game yesterday and ended up doing the Parkrun in Charlton Park this morning.

A flat course with 3 laps of the circuit and after drinking 7 pints yesterday was unsure how it would go but ended up with a new PB and 30 seconds quicker than my time back in October last year at my local Parkrun which has 3 times the amount of participants in it and has some steep inclines in places as well

A time of 28:50 and spotted Inspector Sands crossing the finishing line as i was getting my breath back.

Next one Will probably be the start of next month and Will be the local one

I did Tokoinranta parkrun in Finland at the weekend. Helsinki hasn't got much to do so it's a good reason to visit (plus you can do a day trip to Tallinn).

If anyone else is staying in Swansea next month before the Charlton game - Swansea parkrun is cancelled. Gnoll in Neath is a short train away and still gives a couple of spare hours before the 12:30 KO.

Did my first parkrun since 2019 this morning down at Greenwich peninsula.

Finished in 19:54 which beat my previous parkrun PB by over 8 minutes 🤣 21st overall, top of my age category so I'm buzzing with that. Had been a long term goal of mine to get a sub-20 5k.

Really enjoyable and fast course to run. I had only done Avery hill before and it was nice not dealing with any grass.

Well done! "Swifty_Addick" now then. 😂

Got my fastest time of the year so far, by two seconds, today at Market Harborough (28.16) where this years aim is to notch up 100 runs there. Currently on 76 there and 313 in total. Last year I spent getting my P index up to 10.

I'm the reverse of you though. Set my PB in 2019 but I'm more than five minutes slower these days.

Took an inspirational look at the Dover Parkrun last week before commencing my Couch to 5K. 2016  was my last Parkrun at Avery Hill, God I'm unfit.   Apparently Dover is the only Parkrun which goes onto a pier.

Gonna be in Dublin (near the port, or Quay or whatever) in June.  I notice there are several!  Anybody been to any of them, and any opinions on which one is the best to do?

I've done Malahide. It's a really well kept park, has a small castle just off the route, and the Ireland cricket team use it as their home ground. It's near the station, plus Malahide village and docks are worth a wander afterwards too.

I was tempted by Father Collins for the name, that's extra flat and fast I think.
