Misses today, must have been some serious cramp. At least we finished the game with 10 players on the pitch though.Sword65pf said:
They were better qualified to make that decision I’d say, not quite sure why people are so ready to put the boot into whatever they can about the club, manager.shine166 said:... yet our amazing medical team/manager told him to play on.

Gets injured early on in his Charlton career? - That what I call proper Charlton5

It was obvious to everyone that it was a hamstring.shine166 said:

Hopefully just a minor hamstring injury were one CB away from throwing an u21 into the starting XI0

Did I say it was cramp?, I actually said it looked like a pull, not sure the purpose of the cheap shot, hope you feel better now though.shine166 said:

OS says he picked up an injury last week0

Not as bad as it sounds, Sichenje is only 22 himself. Gough, Laqeretabua and Mitchell are all 20/21.Crispywood said:Hopefully just a minor hamstring injury were one CB away from throwing an u21 into the starting XI1 -

It seems that it was a definite hamstring pull (not cramp or Ramadan relates dehydration), and we let him carry on playing for around 15 minutes.
Having got 0 points from the game, you can say it was a bad decision as we are now without Collins and Burke to fill the center-back role for Lloyd, either to have a rest or if he gets injured.

Before games the unused squad members usually do a warm down on the pitch. Often two players.
Zach Mitchell was the warm downer on Saturday, so presumably he was on the fringes of the squad for that game.0 -
I would have to double check but I am pretty sure it wasn't 15 minutes. I remember him doing it towards the very end of the match, I'd say it was closer to four minutes on the pitch after he pulled up._uptheaddicks said:It seems that it was a definite hamstring pull (not cramp or Ramadan relates dehydration), and we let him carry on playing for around 15 minutes.

Love him, love the song, hope he recovers quickly.1

Even worse decision then, especially with Jones 1 booking away from a ban.elbiglad said:

Injuries happen unfortunately. I don't think there was any intention for him to play as much as he did so quickly after arriving, but injuries v West Brom and Wrexham forced our hand.
I think he touched the ball once more after he signalled to come off, but can't be 100% certain. I don't know if he made it any worse by staying on for those last few minutes, but I can understand why our coaches decided to tell him to stand up front rather than come off in the heat of the moment. Personally, I think the damage was already done. Perhaps cooler heads would've told him to come off, but I can imagine what the reaction would've been in the stands and on here!

Not quite sure who or what you're defending!elbiglad said:Injuries happen unfortunately. I don't think there was any intention for him to play as much as he did so quickly after arriving, but injuries v West Brom and Wrexham forced our hand.

I think it's pretty clear: whoever made the decision (likely Nathan Jones) to keep him on the pitch for four minutes after he signalled that he was injured. I think it's totally understandable how this happened in the moment.
It's easy to be a Monday morning quarterback.2 -
It wasn’t 15 mins he did in the 90th when he delivered the cross after running 50 yards down the right. It’s not like he even ran in those last 4 minutes of added time it wouldn’t have made a difference whether we hooked him or not once it’s pulled it’s pulled_uptheaddicks said:It seems that it was a definite hamstring pull (not cramp or Ramadan relates dehydration), and we let him carry on playing for around 15 minutes.

It was very obviously a hamstring at the time. He should have been straight off, it's schoolboy stuff. You can't run it off, it will only make it worse. I was there and said he should be straight off as did everyone with me. It's not being a Monday morning quarterback, it's basic.
But NJ is in credit overall and Collins will hopefully be fit and raring to go for next season as he looked very, very decent.3 -
Ha, I don’t think he was told to try and run it off! He was told to stand up front for the last four minutes of a game we had a good chance of getting something from. I don’t think he was involved in anything that could’ve made it worse, the damage was already done.Athletico Charlton said:elbiglad said:I think it's pretty clear: whoever made the decision (likely Nathan Jones) to keep him on the pitch for four minutes after he signalled that he was injured. Someone did pass to him and he put another ball into the box and winced again.elbiglad said:
