    My worry is if TC leaves who would everyone moan about? He provides a useful outlet for some of our more angry fans...

    In my opinion TC has pace and talent, he sometimes appears to lack motivation but most importantly he lacks a football brain.
    He all too often fails to anticipate what might happen next, or stands around watching the player on the ball rather than giving him a better option.
    I like him, and he brings things that we currently don't have too much of from other players, but I fear that the best coaches in the world won't be able to coach instinct into him.
    I hope that I'm wrong, as I'd love to see a more productive TC in a Charlton shirt.

    Some interesting discussion about TC and comparisons to other attacking players on Cawley’s podcast. Thought the comparison to Mavididi in particular was interesting as he’s someone you’d immediately think of as more exiting

    You can forgive him for certain aspects of his game lacking but it is so frustrating when he gets a defender more wide 1v1 and does absolutely nothing with it. 

    Two immediate examples I can think of, at Middlesborough late on breakaway and just heavy touch straight to the defender. 

    Then at Oxford, had some space and the defender just makes an easy tackle, not even an attempt to go round or get a shot or cross off.

    I think he is far too comfortable in the Charlton bubble and is in for a rude awakening when he inevitably leaves. 

    I can only see his career going on a downward trajectory after leaving us but then again, I have never been a fan as he lacks any sort of football brain or shooting / passing / crossing ability. All he has is pace and dribbling and there’s loads of national league wingers who can do that..

    Ridiculous comment have to say … he might look good against our under 18 in training but he been bloody awful on the pitch where it matters

    'That is what we want from him' indicates we haven't really seen it yet......?

    Wow, just imagine NJ & staff can somehow unlock that electricity on a properly consistent match-day basis!! If they believe they can I can see him being retained in the summer window...... which might mean TC going next January......?

    Unless, of course, there's an outside suitor willing to offer a future priced 'get in quick' deal this summer as they believe it's worth an early punt for someone who could turn out to be something special.

    Or maybe NJ doesn't really see a huge upside and he's trying to big up TC for a summer bidding war.......?

    Me personally........ I believe there's a huge upside........ potentially helping to make next seasons games really great to go to.

    I think TC has to believe it too and then do whatever it takes to get there. Come on TC!!!!!

    And picture the upside happening and we've managed to get him into a longer contract...... wowser!!!!

    Similar to NJs comments on Kelman, says he bangs them in all the time in training. 

    Maybe our defensive work in training against our own attackers isn't very high intensity, because whatever we do in training doesn't seem to translate to actual games

    Sure, I've seen loads of payers make mistakes every single game, but it's just funny to see actual professional footballers who are making their way in the game being assessed as not having the brain required to do it by random people on a forum who presumably, unless they are using their retirement very weirdly, aren't really in a position to be making that call. It's not just 'his finishing isn't good enough under pressure', 'he misplaces too many passes', 'he strays offside too much' but fundamentally he doesn't have the brain required to be a successful footballer as assessed by me, damp proofing salesman. It's just a cliche I find very funny

    Created our 2 best chances today even though he’s not been great. I like how our midfield has been battered today Clarke has put in his worse performance in a Charlton shirt yet TC the first man to get criticised

    Poor first half, good for the second with one excellent bit of defending and an electrifying 5 minutes where he looked almost impossible to defend. Just need that 5 minutes to be 10 minutes and happen more regularly

    Had quite a good game today I thought, probably created our best chances in the first half, and then oddly became a right problem for Norwich when he went to Left Wing-Back - As I complained about throughout, might be handy to have his team mates acting as a bit of support, as he's often losing the ball when he's been crowded out by two players, was four players he struggled to face at one point.
    Is probably a bit more frustrating too, as the opposition, know that they can crowd him, without consequence, because if we actually supported him, he could then have more space to actually exploit which has been left by the second defender... But guess that makes too much sense, and is easier to just berate TC for losing the ball.

    Isn't a striker and never will be. 

    Was better in that LWB role once he moved over.

    Looked better coming from out wide after he had been moved to wing back and then just as a winger. Has really struggled playing in a front 2 of late.

    We was only going to score with him on the pitch. He is frustrating but he does alot better on the wing.

    Conversely though in the first half on more than one occasion Chambers had the ball or we had a throw and whilst Dykes for instance is trying to make space to receive the ball TC is static and not making any effort to make space into which receive the ball. He's the most frustrating player for years. And I don't get comments from some (not you) of 'why the hate for TC?'. It's not hate. He's frustrating and to be honest he's his own worst enemy.

    I think on here the criticism is often fair and well considered but some of the stuff in stadium is so audible it can be heard on the stream and a brief look on #cafc or under the club posts on social media and he’s getting pelters despite creating our best chance of the game.
