My worry is if TC leaves who would everyone moan about? He provides a useful outlet for some of our more angry fans...

In my opinion TC has pace and talent, he sometimes appears to lack motivation but most importantly he lacks a football brain.
He all too often fails to anticipate what might happen next, or stands around watching the player on the ball rather than giving him a better option.
I like him, and he brings things that we currently don't have too much of from other players, but I fear that the best coaches in the world won't be able to coach instinct into him.
I hope that I'm wrong, as I'd love to see a more productive TC in a Charlton shirt.6 -
Some interesting discussion about TC and comparisons to other attacking players on Cawley’s podcast. Thought the comparison to Mavididi in particular was interesting as he’s someone you’d immediately think of as more exiting5

You can forgive him for certain aspects of his game lacking but it is so frustrating when he gets a defender more wide 1v1 and does absolutely nothing with it.Two immediate examples I can think of, at Middlesborough late on breakaway and just heavy touch straight to the defender.Then at Oxford, had some space and the defender just makes an easy tackle, not even an attempt to go round or get a shot or cross off.
I think he is far too comfortable in the Charlton bubble and is in for a rude awakening when he inevitably leaves.I can only see his career going on a downward trajectory after leaving us but then again, I have never been a fan as he lacks any sort of football brain or shooting / passing / crossing ability. All he has is pace and dribbling and there’s loads of national league wingers who can do that..4 -

Wow, just imagine NJ & staff can somehow unlock that electricity on a properly consistent match-day basis!! If they believe they can I can see him being retained in the summer window...... which might mean TC going next January......?
Unless, of course, there's an outside suitor willing to offer a future priced 'get in quick' deal this summer as they believe it's worth an early punt for someone who could turn out to be something special.
Or maybe NJ doesn't really see a huge upside and he's trying to big up TC for a summer bidding war.......?
Me personally........ I believe there's a huge upside........ potentially helping to make next seasons games really great to go to.
I think TC has to believe it too and then do whatever it takes to get there. Come on TC!!!!!
And picture the upside happening and we've managed to get him into a longer contract...... wowser!!!!2 -
Similar to NJs comments on Kelman, says he bangs them in all the time in training.
Maybe our defensive work in training against our own attackers isn't very high intensity, because whatever we do in training doesn't seem to translate to actual games0 -
