Tom Baker, the actor probably best known for being a Dr Who, is 92 today.
One thing I hadn't realised until now is that he studied for three years at the Rose Bruford College in Sidcup. They've had a few successes in their time with, in addition to Baker, the likes of Angharad Rees, Ray Fearon, Pam St Clement, Rosalie Craig, Hayley Squires, Gary Oldman, Stephen Graham, Nerys Hughes, Kerry Godilman, Lake Bell and Jessica Gunning all studying there.6 -
Recently came across the bio of an actor who many of us will remember for his omnipresence in 1960s films and TV
Australian Vincent Ball recently celebrated his 102nd birthday (4th December)
He's had a very interesting innings (Bloody Aussies and their centuries lol)
Congratulations Vincent

This might be stretching "celebrity" status a bit but Welsh and Tottenham legend, Cliff Jones, is 91 today.
Jones might just have squeezed in under the judgement of Riviera but, more so, perhaps, as the instigator of the thread was a real family man, given Jones has been married to his wife, Joan, for 70 years. They have four children, nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.4 -
I think Robert Wagner deserves another mention - 96 today0

It's a bold claim, but I'd go as far as saying that he is currently the greatest living Brit. A phenomenal career as a broadcaster and a magnificent advocate for nature. If anyone hasn't seen it, please do yourself a favour and check out his Secret Garden series.Addick Addict said:Congratulations to Sir David Attenborough on reaching 100 today. Quentin Blake is now 93 and still drawing on a daily basis. I knew that he went to the same school as I did, albeit decades apart, but hadn't realised that the two teachers that inspired him, Mr Walsh in English and Mr Simmonds in art, were the very same ones who taught me for a very short period of time in those subjects. They certainly didn't inspire me because I'm not an avid reader and am absolutely useless at drawing. You win some, you lose some!Algarveaddick said:The great Quentin Blake joins the club today.2 -
