Had a great weekend in Naples.

Saturday Night we went to see Napoli vs Lecce (finished 2-1 to Napoli after being 0-1 down)

Slightly different vibe on Sunday, we went to FC Pompei v Reap Normanna in Serie D (we accidentally ended up in the away end with the 20 or so Normanna ultras!)

How was the city, I'd like to go there.  A lot of people say it is a bit gritty.

Alfreton v Peterborough Sports on the 14th March in a National League North game.
A bottom of the table game won by Peterborough, a nice little ground, a shame that the town is not the best.

Three days later I ventured upto Gainsborough to watch them play Hyde in a Northern Premier League game.
Gainsborough won very easily by 2-0, this ground is well worth ticking, and into the bargain you might bump into @SoundAsa£ :)

A few of us went up to Dumfries at the weekend for a pal's 50th. We did the hospitality at Queen of the South v East Fife. An entertaining 2 2 draw.

They looked after us really well and were delighted to have us along. We do a Scotland trip every year and this was my favourite visit. Palmerston Park is a cracker of a stadium.

East Fife brought along a band of 50 hardy souls and were rewarded with a decent performance from their team.

The locals were delighted to chat about Lyndon Dykes, who played for QotS. They have very fond memories of him.

I'm doing an East Fife visit in a few weeks,  looking forward to it.

Interesting to see they have a 3g pitch.

A shame we cannot bring this into League 2.

Lots of them do in Scotland. It works well as there are far fewer postponements these days.

Last Saturday took me to Bristol Manor Farm v Sporting Club Inkberrow in the Southern League Division One South.
A shocking game finished 0-0 and quite frankly they could have still been playing now and nobody would have scored.
However, the pasties and pies were absolutely fantastic and Non-League day boosted their gate to 270.
A cracking little ground and well worth the visit.

Went to Everton’s new stadium last night for the Scotland v Ivory Coast match. Nice ground, about 30 mins walk from the city with some decent pubs nearby* centre. Feels a little bit soulless but that may be a) it was only about 1/3 full, b) they only recently moved in.

*this was the first time I’ve ever been out in Liverpool, must have more pubs per square mile than anywhere else in the country.

The way people go on about a stadium being 'special and unique' as it's being built, because of the tilt of the stands or something, when you just know they all end up practically the same. For me it's almost impossible that they're not bland and soulless. All the fuss about the amazing feel they were going to create at Everton and look at that.

I'm glad designs have improved since the era of St Mary's, Walkers Stadium etc, and the location of Hill Dickinson looks good, but it will never be even a fraction of what Goodison Park was.

Have not been here or totteringham's new stadium.  How would they compare?
Liverpool cannot be beaten for a pub crawl and the old skool boozers.

Tottenham’s new stadium is beyond comparison. Absolutely fantastic place and best stadium in the country by miles. Shame the team isn’t worthy of their stadium!

I saw Gnistan 1-5 Oulu in the Finnish top league on Saturday. It was a very non-league set up, 1853 fans paid a minimum of €15 a ticket and €9 a beer

Anyway I'm constantly having 'Home Fans' advertised in my social media and they're finally trying to sell Charlton to me - £90 for Preston on Saturday!

Portchester v Bedfont Sports on the 4th April in the Isthmian South Central.
Portchester were 4-0 up at half time so an easy win for them.
A quirky ground with a mish mash of stands, but a very well run club and well worth a visit, although the town is nothing to write home about.

The mighty Elfsborg played their first away game of the season last Saturday away to Vasteras.
Vasteras were promoted from the Superettan last season so it was a shame Elfsborg could only scramble a 2-2 draw in injury time.
We beat IFK Gothenburg in the first game at home so a good start to the season with a new manager.

Last Sunday Byttorps IF played Ubbhult in a pre-season game.
Byttorps play in division 5 of regional football in Vastergotland, around 9 promotions to get to the Allsvenskan(the top division in Sweden).
For the level it was quite an entertaining game for the attendance of around 20, Byttorps went 2-0 up but went on to lose 5-2.

Elfsborg played away to Degerfors in the Allsvenskan last Friday.
A lovely ground in a wonderful little town that was like a throwback to the 1960's.
We won 1-0 to please the 250 Elfsborg fans that made the four hours trip.

Husqvarna v Motala yesterday in a Division 2 Norra Gotaland game, with the home team winning an entertaining game 2-1.
This game was played 90 minutes from my base in Boras, so was very disappointing to find the game had been changed from the ground shown in the top photos three days before due to the pitch not being able to stage football for another week.

It'll be getting shown at a few more grounds whilst over here :) although once back in Brazil it stays indoors.  The Brazilians are a bit too excitable B)

Skene v Sandareds in the 4th division of Vastergotland South, this was played yesterday and finished 1-0 to Skene, it was not the best of games and decided by a penalty 15 minutes from the end.
The bottom four photos are of the ground where Skene normally play their games, a lovely little ground with bags of character, but unfortunately 3 days before the game the kommun(the local council) said the 3g pitch had to be used until the 1st May.

Last night took me to Fristad, a pleasant little village 10 minutes by train from Boras.
Fristad Goif beat Kabel Attio 3-2 in a regional division 4 game in Vastra Gotaland.  This would be Kent League level.
The games I have seen so far outside of the Allsvenskan(the top league over here) have all been played on 3g pitches.  This is dictated by the local councils not allowing games to be played on grass until the 1st May.  This is very frustrating as I have missed games being played in some lovely little grounds.

This was a local derby in Vanersborg between Vanersborgs FK and Vanersborgs IF. This was a division 2 Norra Gotaland regional game that IF won 2-1.
Friday was a public holiday in Sweden and with the wonderful weather the game attracted a very healthy crowd of about 400.

This was Swedish lower league football at it's best.
Given the condition of the pitch it was no surprise Vargarda v Halvorstorps was not the best of games, which finished 0-0.  This was a 4th division regional game in Vastra Gotaland.
The quality of the football did not match the ground, as with lots of grounds here the surroundings are wonderful, coupled with this being a beautiful traditional ground.
