Yeah can see Albon being at threat of losing his seat come next seasonOh well never mind though Max!!1

Verstappen out in Q2.

Another good Quali session for Antonelli1

The last regulations not to mention the way RB were able to design a car around them suited Max driving style perfectly. I’m not saying he isn’t good but he is being totally shown up with these new cars and it’s hilarious to see.6

Outperformed by his teammate, which is telling.DamoNorthStand said:The last regulations not to mention the way RB were able to design a car around them suited Max driving style perfectly. I’m not saying he isn’t good but he is being totally shown up with these new cars and it’s hilarious to see.
Also outperformed by a Racing Bull, which is embarrassing.

Not disappointed to see, mainly because of the amount of fans who have downplayed the Red Bull the last two years, putting him on some false pedestal suggesting that he could out perform any car and win in a Haas etc.DamoNorthStand said:The last regulations not to mention the way RB were able to design a car around them suited Max driving style perfectly. I always thought this would be the acid test giving him Sainz to deal with. Looks like he's cracking already.ForeverAddickted said:Yeah can see Albon being at threat of losing his seat come next seasonOh well never mind though Max!!
All well and good beating Sargent and Franco but a race winner like Sainz is making him look rather midfield.2 -
Kimi absolutely flying in quali today, nice to see the Mclarens doing better too1
-
Yeah, never been a fan of Albon on the radio.
Massively disappointed with how Williams have started the season. Believed for a long time what Vowles was repeatedly saying about the focus of efforts was on this years car.
Its been left wanting1 -
Vowles is properly unlikeable anyway0

Won’t be sad when the tour moves away from these early Sunday starts!3
-
Nice work from the tv director managing somehow to miss both of Russell’s overtakes. 🙄0
-
F**king dangerous from Colapinto to move to the left like that0
-
Enjoyed the 1hr highlights of that, first few laps and after the safety car particularly enjoyable1
-
Wish I hadn't got up to watch it live!0
-
Just watched the highlights which was probably the better move. Will be interesting to see over the 5 weeks off we've now got how much the FIA alter the rules.

Thought it was a better Suzuka race than what we got during the Ground Effect era, the old track though showed that we're not always going to get exciting racing throughout like what we saw from Australia / China. Be interesting to see what comes about from the Bearman crash, as the way Sainz understandably spoke post race, that needs sorting before we get to the likes Baku or even Monaco.0
-
Didn't surprise me one bit that the crash came about because of Colapinto, blokes a liability, and at those different speeds really shouldn't be wandering across the track like that, a few laps later and Russell and Leclerc had exactly the same thing and managed to avoid eachother easilyForeverAddickted said:Thought it was a better Suzuka race than what we got during the Ground Effect era, the old track though showed that we're not always going to get exciting racing throughout like what we saw from Australia / China. This is quite common in football though. Many managers have refused to speak to certain journalists and/or had them removed from press conferences. Fergie was notorious for it, and i think he even refused to speak to the BBC for a few years.lordromford said:Verstappen has chucked a journalist out of the press conference.
Apparently because, back in Abu Dhabi at the end of the season, he asked him if he regretted barging into Russell and getting penalised in Barcelona, which may have cost him the title.
Verstappen has since said it wasn’t the question that was the problem, it was the way it was asked “with a stupid grin”.Seems like a bit of a dick move to me. Not sure any driver should have the power to eject a particular journalist just because he doesn’t like his attitude/style/face.
BBC Article here0 -
Yeah, I was thinking this afterwards. My mind immediately went to Fergie too. I still think it’s a dick move and I thought it was a dick move when Fergie did it.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

It’s all just a bit pathetic and childish and Verstappen, who in many peoples eyes, including mine, has become less of an arsehole in the last year or so (maybe since fatherhood?), has demonstrated a little of the spoilt brat of old.

The problem for Verstappen is the family he grew up around. His dad somehow avoided prison for running his mum over with a van in the Genk karting paddock, and also attacked someone I knew with a metal bar.
He is a total wrong un and I think Max grew up in total fear of him. No surprise he has grown into the total prick that he has.3 -
I actually think Max is a simple person (and I don't mean that as an insult) he just wants to go racing, and push himself, his car and his opponents to the limits.
When we was younger he pushed those limits too far, and he's reined it in recently, but he's obviously not happy with the new style of driving and the cars with the super clipping etc. and he feels like he's not driving at the limit.
I can see him packing it in at the end of the year and trying endurance racing, and a big name like him going there might boost their viewership and following, especially at circuits themselves where the Dutch fans seem to travel in great numbers2 -
Any other team will take him if he thinks RB can't give him a Championship car. There isn't enough money in motor racings other categories for him.sam3110 said:I actually think Max is a simple person (and I don't mean that as an insult) he just wants to go racing, and push himself, his car and his opponents to the limits.

I'm honestly not sure the money really motivates him that much. He's made more than enough from F1 already and I think all he really cares about is 'pure' racing.gringo said:

As much as I'm a fan of endurance racing, it's even more about car management than out and out racing. The Dutch fans would love it if he did switch though, there was always a big contingent of them supporting Jan Lammers when I used to go to Le Mans.Rizzo said:

He'd just race for his GT team as and when he wanted surely0
-
He's made £200m before endorsements etc , money won't be a factor it'll be as rizzo said above all about " pure racing". I still think he'll be back like Kimi was after his WRC and NASCAR exploits.0

If he’s only interested in pure racing, he’ll be in the Caterham SevensRizzo said:

Absolute bombshell dropping this morning from Dutch journos (so they got it from Max's camp)
Gianpiero Lambiase to join McLaren as Team Principal for 2028.
Think this is probably the final nail in Max leaving.
Andrea Stella to Ferrari as TP is now doing the rounds too.1 -
Da f**k did that come from!!0
