I think De Zerbi would be another strange appointment.
Basket case of a club at the moment0 -
I'm not sure Tudor was really known as anything other than a guy who got sacked by Juventus after about 20 games.stoneroses19 said:
Isn’t that what Tudor was meant to be known for?Chris_from_Sidcup said:
Isn't he a manager who gets a reaction from players though? Intense, high standards etc.fenaddick said:The idea of hiring De Zerbi in a relegation fight is crazy, the hierarchy there clearly have no idea what they're doing
Probably not what they want long term as he falls out with players, and also the board, but he should be ok to keep them up, as there's only 7 weeks of the season left.0 -
Daniel Levy probably having a bit of a laugh at the moment.1

Something terribly wrong at Spurs….they should not be in this position…too many good players…player power? Plus long term injuries ie Maddison ?0

Not really? He is still a shareholder I think?TelMc32 said:Daniel Levy probably having a bit of a laugh at the moment.0 -
They're going to regret the timing of that if they go down, because we start 2 weeks earlier than the Prem next season.Blackheathen said:Even if they go down they have the consolation of coming to NZ for a game against Auckland FC in late July.7 -
He has a 40% win rate in his last two jobs, that would keep them up.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Supposedly he was seen cheering on Forest at the recent debacle.TelMc32 said:Daniel Levy probably having a bit of a laugh at the moment.0 -

As I've said, I think De Zerbi is a strange appointment.
I'm not saying he's a bad manager, but I'm not sure he's the right type of manager they need in a relegation fight with 7 games to go. Should've gone with a firefighter appointment until the end of the season & then reassess
Time will tell I guess3 -
Looks like De Zerbi has been convinced to accept the role now (and not from the summer as he originally wanted) and will be in charge for their next game away at Sunderland.0

5 year contract for de Zerbi. Extraordinary.

Awful bloke though, could never see past how he took in "good guy" Mason Greenwood.Gravesend_Addick said:As I've said, I think De Zerbi is a strange appointment.

Unless they reveal the termination clause 5 years has little meaning.Jints said:5 year contract for de Zerbi. Extraordinary.2 -
They needed an appointment that would unite the club and fans. I really don't think De Zerbi is that guy. He's just another miserable f--r like Tudor.2

BBC are saying there's no form of relegation clause in the contract, absolutely mental0
-
Due to having to have hernia surgery, Tottenham keeper Guglielmo Vicario will miss de Zerbi and his successor this season.6

Surely every contract of employment must have a termination clause and hence if the team are relegated there is a ‘get out’ if the sums involved require it.fenaddick said:BBC are saying there's no form of relegation clause in the contract, absolutely mental

They will stay up0

That’s the point, there’s no clause that drops his wages or a break clause upon relegation. In essence they’d have to pay him off the same amount as they would in the PL, it would effectively mean they couldn’t afford to sack himvalleynick66 said:

I think that’s probably correct but only just. Sunderland away won’t be a picnic for a team low on confidence.MrOneLung said:They will stay up1 -
Fucking right too if you are RdZ. He was holding all of the cards.fenaddick said:BBC are saying there's no form of relegation clause in the contract, absolutely mental0 -
Surprised he wouldn't want a relegation get out clause though.SuedeAdidas said:

Or they have pitched at a level that they can afford him in the (unlikely) event of relegation but he has a bonus and/or increase if they stay in the PL?fenaddick said:
