I think De Zerbi would be another strange appointment.

Basket case of a club at the moment

The idea of hiring De Zerbi in a relegation fight is crazy, the hierarchy there clearly have no idea what they're doing
Isn't he a manager who gets a reaction from players though? Intense, high standards etc.

Probably not what they want long term as he falls out with players, and also the board, but he should be ok to keep them up, as there's only 7 weeks of the season left.
Isn’t that what Tudor was meant to be known for?
I'm not sure Tudor was really known as anything other than a guy who got sacked by Juventus after about 20 games.

Something terribly wrong at Spurs….they should not be in this position…too many good players…player power? Plus long term injuries ie Maddison ?

Even if they go down they have the consolation of coming to NZ for a game against Auckland FC in late July.
They're going to regret the timing of that if they go down, because we start 2 weeks earlier than the  Prem next season.

He has a 40% win rate in his last two jobs, that would keep them up.

Supposedly he was seen cheering on Forest at the recent debacle.

So, who's gonna be dumb enough to take over now?

    Stuart Pearce.

It is in the British constitution that a Tudor must be succeeded by a Stuart.
    That won’t end well…
    Probably not an actual beheading.

As I've said, I think De Zerbi is a strange appointment.

I'm not saying he's a bad manager, but I'm not sure he's the right type of manager they need in a relegation fight with 7 games to go. Should've gone with a firefighter appointment until the end of the season & then reassess

    Time will tell I guess

Looks like De Zerbi has been convinced to accept the role now (and not from the summer as he originally wanted) and will be in charge for their next game away at Sunderland.

Awful bloke though, could never see past how he took in "good guy" Mason Greenwood.

Unless they reveal the termination  clause 5 years has little meaning.

They needed an appointment that would unite the club and fans. I really don't think De Zerbi is that guy. He's just another miserable f--r like Tudor.

BBC are saying there's no form of relegation clause in the contract, absolutely mental

Due to having to have hernia surgery, Tottenham keeper Guglielmo Vicario will miss de Zerbi and his successor this season.

Surely every contract of employment must have a termination clause and hence if the team are relegated there is a ‘get out’ if the sums involved require it.

A brilliantly timed tweet, which predictably didn't go down well  :D

That’s the point, there’s no clause that drops his wages or a break clause upon relegation. In essence they’d have to pay him off the same amount as they would in the PL, it would effectively mean they couldn’t afford to sack him

I think that’s probably correct but only just. Sunderland away won’t be a picnic for a team low on confidence.

Surprised he wouldn't want a relegation get out clause though.

Or they have pitched at a level that they can afford him in the (unlikely) event of relegation but he has a bonus and/or increase if they stay in the PL?
