I think that’s probably correct but only just. Sunderland away won’t be a picnic for a team low on confidence.MrOneLung said:They will stay up3 -
There’s no way he’s coming to a job earlier than he wanted on a Championship salaryvalleynick66 said:
Or they have pitched at a level that they can afford him in the (unlikely) event of relegation but he has a bonus and/or increase if they stay in the PL?fenaddick said:
That’s the point, there’s no clause that drops his wages or a break clause upon relegation. In essence they’d have to pay him off the same amount as they would in the PL, it would effectively mean they couldn’t afford to sack himvalleynick66 said:
Surely every contract of employment must have a termination clause and hence if the team are relegated there is a ‘get out’ if the sums involved require it.fenaddick said:BBC are saying there's no form of relegation clause in the contract, absolutely mental0 -

A few weeks work for very good money and the lure of a PL role in the most likely scenario?fenaddick said:

Don’t forget they can afford to pay more than the average Championship wage even if relegated.I doubt the finances are a huge gamble for either party.0 -
Spurs last visit to NZ was 1976. An old chap who rang talkback said he was in the Auckland team that day in May.
Auckland were leading 3-2 when a young man came on for Tottenham and carved the home team apart and Spurs won 5-3.
It was Glenn Hoddle.

Not sure about that tbh, the Championship is a tough division, they won’t find it so easy next season…8 -

But not the point I’m making. They will still (in that scenario) pay above average in the Championship as do all relegated teams - hence to some degree parachute payments.ElfsborgAddick said:valleynick66 said:
