Missing key players tonight, who you'd hope would have made the difference, we lost to Iceland two years ago ahead of the Euros and still made the Final so no need to get too worried
That's 2 years and a new manager/squad Vs a few months with the same set up. Not really a comparable situation.
No but means we should put too much weight on friendly results.
Friendlies in Football whether they're Internationals or a Club Levels are hilariously over-analysed. We can still look at it, that we've got a very strong defensive team when we've got the First-Team out.
How many years under Southgate and previous Managers were there complaints that we only used the same old players, and didn't use friendlies to test new tactics and players... mhmmmm

The problem isnt the result it's more the fact that Friday and today have made it glaringly obvious that we dont have the quality outside of our starting line up. Quarter finals will be an achievement imo

Croatia and Ghana will be tough games pains me to say it but can’t see England getting past round of 16, we were on the cusp of being decent until that palace wally decided to defend a 1-0 lead in a major final

Should hope the manager is able to make the tough decisions and end the Foden and Palmer experiment. Both offer nothing in comparison to better options.

Kane and rice absence is obvious. I’m not overly bothered by the loss.

Tuchel again losing as soon as he faces a decent team.

Well, what a waste of time that international break was.Two dire matches, any paying punter should be offered a refund
All about opinions, but iMHO,Tuchel has not got a clue.,and IMHO winning the world cup is a pipe dream.
    1)Why pick a 35 man squad including 5 goalkeepers,whats that all about.
2)Foden nor stones have hardly played a game this season,How do they warrant a place,I thought club form indicated whether you were playing well enough to represent your country,
3)No Kane so the underplayed Foden starts at CF,probably never having played there before.
4)Lewis Hall has been the best LB in England, and yet we play at LB someone who has been playing mostly in midfield for their club.
5)On to Strikers,Where did Solanke suddenly come from, done nothing all season to warrant a a place,Calvert Lewin fair enough, but Welbeck has been the best English striker in the premier league,What has Watkins done so wrong to be sidelined.
6)Palmer lost the ball, chased for about 30 yards and then stopped allowing a tap in,to me ,piss off your not needed.
7)Finally,(I could go on for ever on this)How on earth does White get in over Arnold. He is not a first choice,we are crying out for someone playing people in with long passes and probably the best striker of a ball we have is not even in the squad.
We should now be looking at a fairly settled side, but to me it is a shambles.

I think we're in big trouble if Kane gets a knock mid tournament

The Premier League has all been about set pieces this season. A functional team which isn't that creative is top of the table because of their mastery of them.

England last night looked toothless last night until Maguire and Burn came on, when Maguire started causing chaos in the opposition box at set pieces. To me Maguire has to play, as he offers such an attacking threat.

I think Dixon called it right over both games, no penetrating ball for players to run on too. I find the same frustration watching Charlton, though of course our players are (supposedly) not as skillful as those in the England set up.

Agree with @thickandthin63 - Tuchel is clueless and will be shown up this summer.
