WTF was that for defending, and I thought we were sloppy in possession

Can't see them bottling it unfortunately. 9 points ahead with a better goal difference. Still see city dropping points somewhere. Hope I'm wrong.
The goal difference isn’t that much.
If City win the games in hand and win the game against Arsenal, that’ll be a swing of 4 goals as an absolute minimum.
It’s not beyond belief for them to give someone a bit of a hammering.

It’s all ifs and buts though. As you say, there’s every chance they’ll drop points somewhere. Maybe even tomorrow against Chelsea.
    Ahem.

The way they've started the second half Man City could wipe out their GD deficit compared to the Gooners this afternoon.
Win their game in hand and beat Arsenal by just one goal and they will be top even if the score stays as it is today. It would be gutting if Arsenal were to lose the PL not even by goal difference but by goals scored.

What will failing to reach the Champions League next season do for Chelsea's finances?

Doesn’t matter. They’ll probably sell the hotdog stand to themselves for 12 billion quid and the books will balance just fine.

They've won the league title that way (88/89) so they can lose it that way as well.

In my day job I'm an accountant albeit one who's worked in investment accounting and insurance accounting for the last 28 years.

I've just had a flick through the various accounting standards that might come into play and how they relate to the Premier League rules and I think I've found the answer.

    F*** 'em.

That day was fucking hilarious, to be fair. Scousers in tears. Lovely.

    On a wee serious note.
What the feck has happened to Gallagher? He used to be such a workhorse. Now he just looks so disinterested. And he was like that at Athletico, couldn’t quite believe Spurs went for him.
Had such high hopes for him.

Such a weird career trajectory. Thought he was going to run the show for Chelsea for years now he just seems a shadow of the player he was. Hopefully he can get back on track somewhere else , probably gone into that Spurs dressing room and wondered what the hell is going on!

Romero's crocodile tears were quite something.
All he bloody cares about is going to the World Cup, couldn't give a flying toss about Spurs.

And he's our Captain.  Pretty much sums up the car crash I've been watching for the last 2 years.

They had the perfect opportunity against us to get a wake up call from the start of the new manager taking over and saying things needed to change but they wasted it. As a result the problems they had and still have haven’t been addressed and they are paying for it now with key players talking publicly about moving on and even European football not guaranteed for next season.

Absolutely.  The day at school building up to that match was one full of anticipation. The match itself, and moreover the finish, was incredible. It was arguably the greatest moment in English football league history.

Can’t believe Spurs are getting relegated and we’re going to screw things up so we don’t play them in the same league 🤣

    Bromley away ole ole
Us singing that “Tottenham away” song is really cringe.
Surely that was for their U21s in the EFL trophy

Arsenal had actually blown the chance to win it by only taking 1 point from 2 homes prior to that, and Liverpool were on a 5 month unbeaten run. No one fancied Arsenal to go there and do it.

Assuming we stay up, let's put a cheeky little bid in for him.

He could well see a better future here than at Spurs! :-)

Assuming he’s still with his Irish lassie he’d struggle in a League of Ireland side at the minute. I wouldn’t want him anywhere near my team.

If he leaves Spurs this summer he’ll probably want a move back to the Premier League.

Probably end up at Newcastle if they get raided for Bruno and Tonali
