Tonda Eckert is making Will Still look more and more shit with every passing week.
I feel a bit for Still. Eckert is using essentially his tactics, this kind of system takes a while to bed in, he was fired just before it clicked. I can guarantee that Southampton would have improved if Still had stayed, albeit maybe not to this extent
Yeah just like we would have clicked if poor old Apples hadn't been sacked?

What’s best price our relegation , any better than 10 to 1 out there

I got 25/1 with Bob’s lot on Sunday
I put a £10 on us going down at 66/1, wish I put more on now.

If you had put more on you would want Charlton to get relegated. Yes or no ?🙎🏻‍♂️
Obviously he doesnt mean that. He means he thinks there is a good chance we will go down so he wishes he had dulled the pain with more money. Unless I am misreading it?

We have been brilliant away from home in recent weeks, but in games where we aren't expected to win, so there's no pressure, and we can play to our strengths, which is keeping it tight and nicking a goal, probably from a set piece.

On Saturday, there will be pressure on us as we need the win. Not just for the 3 points, but also to stop the mini slump.

Wednesday by contrast are under no pressure, and have shown they're hard to break down. In many games they've only conceded late, due to wilting under the constant pressure, but that isn't exactly our game. Our passing and attacking threat isn't going to tire them out.
Chef Wendy are the anti-Huddersfield, on the longest winless run in the history of the universe (possibly even earlier than that, to before Palarse's existence).

They hint won a league game at home all season.

They are already relegated with what will probably be a record low points total.

For any other football club this points to away win but we know from plentiful and bitter experience that this all adds up to a nailed-on home win.

In other words: it's a game we aren't expected to win.

    Therefore we will.

    Charlton Life logic strikes again.

    Sorted.

    You're welcome.

Taking everybody else out of the equation.

If Blackburn lose on Friday night and we were to somehow win Saturday. We would need to find just a point from the remaining three to force them to have to win both of their games to have a chance of overtaking us.

For a team going for automatic promotion that performance from Ipswich was absolutely shocking.
Pompey showed how we need to approach the game against Ipswich next week.
Southampton took their foot off the gas in the second half, which allowed Blackburn to give it a go, but at least they did, Ipswich didn't.

At home - we are just not set up to create enough chances and score enough goals
Which is not how football should be played.

Imagine playing cricket with the objective of not taking wickets or scoring runs.
    Been to Canterbury recently ?

    Already confirmed.

The lowest ever points total by a team since 3 points for a win was introduced was Derby with 11. In a 46 game season it is Rotherham with 23.

Anyone who bets on Charlton Athletic being relegated, just wants to benefit from our demise should that happen...🙄

Someone I know who is a Leicester fan says:

“Leicester’s position appears terminal. Something is rotten at the heart of the club just now and we are gutless and guileless on the pitch. Charlton should be fine and will have just about enough I would imagine.”

Coventry effectively already promoted due to significant goal difference but a point tonight at Blackburn would officially confirm it.

Percentage chance of finishing 2nd according to Opta

    Ipswich 71.9%
    Millwall 11.4%
    Southampton 10.0%
    Middlesbrough 6.5%

Coventry will want to win the league so still need the win.  Hoping for an obliteration of 5-6 goals by Coventry, then Shef Utd to beat Blackburn next up.  Would mean we only need 2 more points and to avoid getting pumped to stay above Blackburn.

Coventry really should be ahead, some good blocks in the Blackburn defence
We need to take note of that again
We're resorting back to creating too much hard work for ourselves, conceding through sloppy moments

Blackburn lad is very lucky... He's just been booked and that high boot could easily have been a second yellow immediately

I thought he’s having a stinker - zero end product from him so far.

Blackburn look the far better side - lots of good chances but can’t score.. sounds familiar.. hence why we’re both down the wrong end.
