A Mate saw the team bus on the north M25 this morning so at least it looks like they will get a good prep.
Were they sure it wasn't the Larkfield coach?
  • Blimey, glad it wasn't some of you storming the beaches of Normandy, or fighting for our great country in general, we would be bang in trouble!

At the end of the day, this game won't make or break our season, we won’t be down if we lose this! Cheer up ffs.

Plenty of points to play for and it wouldn't surprise me if we don't beat these and then go on to smash the two better sides at home, that would be very Charlton.

As long as the boys make an effort, I'll be happy. Grateful we have been apart of a fantastic Championship campaign, and if it's our last one for another 5 years, so be it.

Would rip my arm, leg, ear, & cock off for a draw, these aren't no mugs at home and can beat anyone on their day.

    Safe travels all.
How were Portsmouth,Blackburn and Norwich at the turn of the year must win games. Now when although not a must win game it would me almost mean us being safe. You would rip your cock of for a point.

I just wanted to say that I would do a great number of things for a charlton win, but with respect I have no intention of separating my cock from my body, admittedly my belly casts rather a large shadow making it less visible but it’s still attached and long may that continue, anyway 2-0 charlton.😜

We should rock up and cruise to a comfortable 2-0 win. However, in the current mindset, I can see us going 1-0 down early. The totally controlling the game, but failing to score… Then as we push late in game, Wednesday break makes it 2-0.

    PWR.

Predicting a defeat tomorrow. Sheff Wed will score first & we'll huff & puff without reward.

    1-0.

Was it on the hard shoulder?

0-1 to Charlton. Coady with the winner.

The two worst form teams in the division currently, this will end up being a 0-0 horror.
  • Not sure what team I'd pick except that whatever it is, Conor Coady would be in it.

I honestly think his experience and knowhow will be invaluable in this sort of game.

Just a comment for those of you obsessed with military analogies. For someone to think that Charlton might struggle a bit in their last four games of the season, based on fairly solid evidence, isn’t the same as ‘cowardice’ and doesn’t mean that they would be a liability in ‘the trenches’ on on the ‘beaches of Normandy’. I actually can’t believe some of the shit I’m reading on this forum lately.

Godders has to start and I would rest Carey and put JRC in

Keep TC on bench and bring on later once there is more space for him.

Win and we can stop worrying. Like many I thought this was over weeks ago but here we go again.

We have been starting games well without scoring a lot throughout the year, hopefully half of that changes today. An early goal would be huge, and if we take the lead then I think we will be fine.

If we don’t, I do worry about us getting edgy. However, they concede a lot of late goals and we’ve shown we can end games strongly, albeit without the goals, in recent weeks. They will be up for it and have their moments: we have to ride them out and show the solidity our good results have been built on.

I’m saying Wednesday 0-2 Charlton. The team I would start is:

    Mannion
    Ramsay Jones Bell
    Clarke Coady Docherty Chambers
    Carey
    Dykes Godden

TC to come on at LWB if we need to go for it or for Godden after an hour to freshen things up. I would like to see Leaburn given some more time to impact the game, feel like Dykes has been fading in games and that we played best when we changed both front men between 60-70 mins. As much as Berry is persona non grata this season, I thought we played really well when he started v Birmingham and wouldn’t be surprised if he got on the pitch today.

Echoes  across the valley   used  to be the feature on the front page of the  programme  , when it was 2 p My thoughts  , fears this  morning is that this is the  last  chance saloon  against the massives , remember when we used  to take the mickey out of their   claim   to be a massive   club . Well they may have the last laugh , they have nothing  to lose we have everthing  to lose . I fear if we lose today we will   go  down , you need  to be an eternal optimist  to think we will turn  over ipswich  next week.  We have said it before it is in our own hands others below us  are  doing their own thing. It seems incredible to think back of the  3 nil  win at Portman  road , just as well as we did. Come on  you reds prove me wrong. Please

I’ve never been fighting in trenches or on a beach in Normandy but anyone who played football with me knows I was always positive and gave 100%

I find it impossible to be positive about this current team however. It’s almost like watching 11 versions of myself on the pitch: defending,  tackling and getting rid of the ball anyway how, with the occasional decent pass on the ground to another midfielder. It’s bloody awful to watch.

I can’t believe the level of complacency by so many lifers, and blindness to our manager's ineptitude at any non defensive strategy.

I believe that Portsmouth,  Blackburn and West Brom ( who won’t get any points deduction this season)will overtake us.

If us and Oxford both beat Sheffield Wednesday  then they will still be 5 points behind us with 3 games to play. I believe they will beat Wrexham though. Then on the last game of the season they go to bloody Millwall ( much like Barnsley away to Brentford in 2020), a team who may not be able to get top two anymore and never ever do us any favours. We will need at LEAST a point at Swansea.

If I sound over pessimistic then you clearly weren’t as traumatised by our 2020 relegation as I was. I can see us again desperately playing away to a team all in white in the last game, like a reoccurring nightmare. Even winning today won’t ease my fears and I think we'll struggle to get a draw today anyway.

There is something about that 2020 relegation that changed me and made me fear the worst for Charlton, even when the overrriding facts remain it is ours to lose now.   Maybe it was the complete lack of fan interaction and feeling useless or the cocophnay of results that went against us at exactly the right time. My ratonale brain says we will win today and be out of it, but my ego brain still fears playing fucking Burton Albion twice a year again.

Godden (again, ole ole) please elay these fears this afternoon with an early double.

Today is a massive game for CAFC and its future.
Unfortunately for us, Sheffield Wednesday hasn't thrown the towel in as was proved last week with their draw with Coventry despite being condemned to League 1 since being sentenced.

Sheff wed and Leicester just don't have the same Kudos and influence as Chelsea and Man City who have broke so many rules over the last decade or so and have never been docked a single point.

Back to today and we need every player to find their best form and combine as if they aren't strangers who have just been brought together in pre season.

Having tipped Charlton to win 2-1 against both Bristol City and Preston I will desist from giving a score but we need a positive outcome as we are being reeled in as we are limping to the line.

Never keen on Bowel incontinence terminology and I will only be wearing a man sized nappy for insurance purposes!

Nervy 2-1 win after being pegged back by a sloppy goal
