Snap. Never been a fan and never seen them before.EastTerrace said:James at the O2 tonight.
Never been a massive fan, although have a couple of 7” Singles from the early 90s.
Really enjoyed it, some great songs with Tim Booth’s expressive voice, but veering off into less well known (for me) alternative stuff.
Thought they were brilliant. Really impressed. I only found out I was going a couple of weeks ago so did a bit of listening up on the old back catalogue and was really surprised how many songs I knew and how good the songs were that I didn't know (at the time, but do know now). I think there were only 3 or 4 tunes I hadn't heard before - and one of those he fucked up on and stopped after the first verse (bonus!).
Not a massive fan of the O2, but had standing tickets and there was a really good vibe in the crowd.
Massively impressed. And I'm normally a proper miserable **** - as plenty on here will testify!1 -
Friend of mine went to see them in Glasgow two weeks ago. Right by the stage with her daughter when Tim decided to crowd surf, fell forward and let the crowd move him along…I’m sure it was just accidental that her hand managed to find Tim’s crotch as he travelled above her and all captured on video by her, now traumatised, daughter!! 🤷🏻♂️😂😂1

Second gig in the weekend for me.
Lande Hekt (who I have never seen), supported by The Popguns (who I’ve seen 40-50 times) at The Moth Club, Hackney.
If you like your twee Indie, I recommend Lande Hekt live.1 -
Debunks the song, she only cums on top.TelMc32 said:Friend of mine went to see them in Glasgow two weeks ago. Yet another brilliant show by Big Thief at the Brixton Academy. I know some people like this venue but I’ve never liked it. If you’re going there, be ready for lengthy queues literally around the building which makes entry slow.

Sadly, I assume for Brixton Academy this is a condition of getting their licence back and making sure they don’t have a build up/surge of people trying to get in. This way they can better control the crowd and make sure only ticket holders get in.2

Yes, I don’t doubt that. The unintended side effect was that a lot of people got in late, which in turn meant the back of the auditorium was packed and people were getting irritated by others pushing through after the band had started. Not a great user experience but, as you imply, safer - and at least Big Thief were excellent.TelMc32 said:Sadly, I assume for Brixton Academy this is a condition of getting their licence back and making sure they don’t have a build up/surge of people trying to get in. The Prodigy at Wembley arena last night. Was great. Had seats right at the back so couldn't really see anything but theusoc and atmosphere was too notch. Good mix of old and new material1

Not really a gig but my sister's got me a ticket for the premiere of the Iron Maiden documentary Burning Ambition at Leicester Sq next Tuesday.3

I saw a decent gig at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm, last night. They make a terrific sound. My only complaint would be that some of their songs are a bit samey. However, a good 8/10 gig.0

Kneecap at Rough Trade records last night. Crowd as up for it as you would imagine a new album has some catchy tunes. Great energy.2

Cracking night, the film is excellent. Whilst the band members speak on the film, it's mainly shot from fans perspectives. Well worth going to see, my sis isn't really a fan but she really enjoyed it.DaveMehmet said:Not really a gig but my sister's got me a ticket for the premiere of the Iron Maiden documentary Burning Ambition at Leicester Sq next Tuesday.

Daughter went to see Ninja Sex Party at Brixton last night, she said took about 50 minutes to get in.0

That seems to be par for the course there now.guinnessaddick said:Daughter went to see Ninja Sex Party at Brixton last night, she said took about 50 minutes to get in.0 -
Saw an interview with Bruce yesterday and they asked him why you could only hear them talking and not actually see the band members during the film. “We’re all old & wrinkly now and no-one wants to see that” was his response 😂DaveMehmet said:

Yeah, Nicko McBrain looked ancient, although he has had some health issues. Had a quick chat with Dennis Stratton, who played with them between 79-80, who also looked his age and some.TelMc32 said:

Focus last Friday in the smallest venue in the bus station of Newport, Isle of Wight. A joyous occasion with two drum solos and memories of the 70s. 1 -
Oh yeah!!! Twilight Sad.TelMc32 said:
