I honestly can’t wait for this season to end it’s been a painful success in terms of staying up which I’m sure we will now but it has been dire. Transfers have been very confusing imo hardly any of last years signings are still here and apparently we paid decent money for them. I’m sure the ownership will provide funds this summer but we need to be signing pretty much a full squad I think in order to survive next season. Literally the only players I would 100% want to see starting next season would be.

    Jones
    Bell
    Edwards
    Ramsay
    Collins

that leaves a lot of outgoings and signings lol
Even then I don’t think you want both Sichenje and Ramsay starting. If Ramsay is RWB and Edwards LWB that’s very defensive even for us

We need to add wing backs that have a bit of pace and good going forward 1v1. So that we don’t have to rely on running TC into the ground again next season as he’s the only player with some pace and 1v1 ability

Kacurri 200%. I'd keep Apter, Miles, TC and Tanto, although only Rob as 1st choice in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 variation .
    Clarke not good enough.

I think Edwards and Ramsay would be better in a back 4. With Lloyd Jones and Sichenje as the two centre backs that looks quite balanced to me. If Nathan Jones sticks with this 5-3-2 there’s going to be a lot of work needed in the summer.

I assume you've seen him play several times for you to say that? He's only made 13 appearances for Grimsby in L2, and was in the NL in the first half of the season.

I can see he's a CB, is he a better prospect than Gough, Mitchell and Laqeretabua? He'd have to be to be worth signing.

He is a leftie, athletic and physical. If we revert to 4-4-2 he would be not as important but LJ is getting on in years.

every comment you make i'm more convinced you know nothing about football.

You'd keep Apter and Tanto and sign a kid from League 2, and yet you don't think a RWB, who had games in the Premier League last season, and helped that same club on back to back promotions before that, is good enough?

Two players that should be on our list in the summer to improve our wing play and create chances Sorba Thomas of Stoke .. if Leicester go down try and get either Fatawu or Mavididi other players include Smith and Rathbone from Wrexham …

The only player off that list of Ronnie's that is remotely feasible is Smith because I expect Wrexham to spend another £20-30m and that'll include a striker I'm sure

Stanley Mills at Oxford could be worth a look too. Right winger but can play right wing back and I think would be perfect for us to give an attacking option on that side of the pitch which we’ve really lacked this season compared to last with Small. Only 22 years old so plenty of development room too, plus a year and a half of experience at this level now

Wonder how many creative players )like Galbraith) we will look to sign, fail at the last minute and end up with no one?

What about Salah though? I reckon he could do a job off the bench

Apparently he wanted more minutes but we couldn’t guarantee him that. Good on the ball, pacey, could beat a player or two, but more often than not his final ball and decision making in the final third would let him down.

Strange player. Seemed to be good when we bought him on in the last hand hour or so to run at tired legs but when he started he usually had a shocker. Apparently he hasn’t impressed that much at Oxford.

Wonder how everyone would feel if we spent all our budget on just getting in a decent championship quality rb/rwb, CM and DCM, then a loan or prem youth/end of contract LWB/LB option.

Then just go with what we've got up top and at the back.

We've got a lot of dead wood to shift/release also to trim squad down to 25 + youth players

Our centre back options are fine for another season.

Our strikers options I am ok with, if we kept Dykes and Godden, then you’ve got Kelman, Leaburn and TC that should improve next season and then Mbick as a wildcard. I don’t think our strikers are bad finishers (other than TC), if they get chances they will score goals. Improving wing backs and midfield will get them more chances so we aren’t reliant on just TC creating them from open play

So yes, if we brought in 3 wing backs and 2 good central midfielders that would be transformational so I’d be happy with pretty much all the budget going on this and then the defence and attack remaining pretty similar

I would say that we'd be in a bit of trouble as we'd lose Dykes in this scenario, and while he's lost form recently we definitely need that kind of a presence up front.

Would be a sensible strategy. You can argue all our forwards would automatically become better with better service behind then you think Kanu Mbick Leaburn and TC are all young so is a chance 1 can step up and massively improve. We know the back 3 is good enough so if it’s not broke don’t fix, whereas our midfield is the worse area and are all at the ages where they won’t get better

The midfield is the big issue. It’s nonexistent.

Surely it’s a formation change though. The three doesn’t seem to work, we get overrun to easily.

Would a Bowyer style Diamond work better to combat this issue?

If this season has taught us anything than surely it’s any of the current squad can be  let go if replaced by better.

We are not a strong team and no one is (ever) indispensable.

I still think TC may well be off. Looks to me (from
his demeanour which is open to interpretation of course) like he’s had his head turned and will have some suitors.

He will know that staying put is likely not his best financial move unless of course the owners throw caution to the wind on a squad rebuild such that we will be a real threat next year.

He also knows that he's going to be played out of position. Seems like he's not going to sign a new contract so think we'll sell him this summer.

    I will humour you.

How much do you expect the transfer fees to be for those?

You might be right, but I think it’s more likely that he is just absolutely knackered. He’s had about 2 weeks off in over a year and a half. It’s not surprising he looks like he can barely run at times. I’m hoping we can get him a new contract and then just let him have a proper rest with no World Cup for Jamaica now
