We are our own worst enemies! Macca with a moment of madness and Kaminski letting the shit pen through him. It’s a poor poor end to the season but we just need a point and it looks like a mountain at the moment.3

Not saying that you were one of those complaining about Campbell...The Red Robin said:
That’s not me at all. I’m a fan of TC - you can glance through his thread to see that. He was a loss - but even if he was injured (I assume was) - was Dykes really the best change to make there?ForeverAddickted said:The Red Robin said:
First half yes - second half was awful.NorthStandMillz said:A lot of negativity on here and understandably after how we’ve done in the run-in but I thought we played okay? . Started positively , battled hard but ultimately we just don’t have the quality.Doch and Fevrier very good tonight
macca needs to be moved onDoesnt help we lose Campbell, we were terrorising them on both flanks, despite assurances on here that TC was doing nothing.Once again TC isn't around and those who say he does f**k all, question why we're now less of a threat going forward.1 -

Yup. When he's played there before it hasn't gone well.kentred2 said:What was the selection of Bell at LWB all

And doing it so he could start Gillesphey was just plain weird1 -
Be interested if anyone else noticed this. But with about 2 minutes left on the clock, Coventry had the option to let the ball go out for a goal kick, or dribble up the pitch in open play. He chose to dribble about 20 yards, then turn around, and pass back to Kaminski, who then had to clear it under pressure. Just totally baffling.6

It’s not so m uh about tonight as much as the last two months as well as the dire footballelbiglad said:The reaction on here is a lot worse than I had coming out the ground. A decent first half, a frustrating second half where they scored due to a mistake. We basically played for twenty minutes with ten men. They’re a better team than us, two leagues above us last year and are bringing Jack Clarke off the bench. It’s frustrating. The last month and a half has been horrible. But this was never a game we would’ve expected to win and the players gave it their all. Some perspective needed.2 -
How are we here….its because of shit tactics and team selections….did Carey actually touch the ball when he came on ? He has gone off the boil…0

I dont really know what to say now.
It's not great is it.0 -
The only reason why we still have our heads above water is because of our good start to the season......and a good February.SELR_addicks said:2 points from the last 6 games with only a win needed from any of those to guarantee survival. Can't beat Oxford, can't beat Wednesday, can't even beat teams playing for absolutely nothing.
We are so lucky that other teams have been poor below us, because this run-in has been dreadful.
Last 6 form.guide we are bottom with 2 points. Even Sheff Wed have managed 3. Leicester have managed 4, Oxford 5, Pompey 11, Blackburn 9 and WBA 12.
If the season was 4 games longer rather than 2 we would go down.7 -

Morale must be pretty dire, 4 home losses in a row, looking over our shoulder.
I wonder if this mob have got the mental capability let alone the talent to get a point from the last two.15 -
Thats as maybe, but we all know what follows a relatively good showing from this group... Two or three absolute shi*tters.elbiglad said:The reaction on here is a lot worse than I had coming out the ground. A decent first half, a frustrating second half where they scored due to a mistake. May well have shot our bulk at the wrong target!!0 -
The squad is just not good enough for this level. It's been evident for the last two thirds of the season and particularly so the past couple of months.
Just hope that the football Gods smile on us and Sheffield Wednesday take a point off Oxford or we can get something ourselves on Saturday.
Still completely in our hands and just need one more result.
Massive squad overhaul of Chris Powell League one season proportions required pre season if we do manage to stay up.
You can't compete comfortably when perhaps only 2 or 3 of your entire squad are able to play well consistently at this level.
On to Saturday and let's hope Jones and the players can do the business for 90 plus minutes then and get the result we need.

That first 35 mins I haven't seen us play like that since early on in the season. We were aggressive. The press was class and we won every second ball. One lapse in judgement where we pushed up and the broke through and had too much space and equalised. The pen was stupid and game over. 2nd half back to how we have been of late long ball and hope and it was never gon a work.
Last we see of Bell and Godders this season. TC also looked in a bad way.13 -
A complete lack of anyone from the bench to play wide/winger and bomb along was poor.ForeverAddickted said:sammy391 said:Diabolical substitutions, and lack of energy from the bench…

extremely poor. We rely on other teams yet againSo what were the correct Substitutions...Am seeing this a lot already, but who do you replace TC with, to match his pace and energy at HT?The lack of energy has to be down to the individual coming on, rather than Jones... The fact that grown adults on here, find a way to excuse Footballers from understanding what they themselves need to do, when they become involved is just ludicrous... Do you think Jones needs to stand outside the loo as well going: "Right you see that white paper... you use that to wipe your arse" seeing they need such help to cope in life? Not sure if TC was injured, but don’t think he should have been taken off. Equally don’t think kelman for dykes was wise, but hardly a shock anymore.A sub bench of OAP Berry, a freshly fit Godden, a freshly fit knibbs , and then target man dykes has given us only one dimension from the bench.Would have loved to have had Fullah to bring on3 -
Fullah who just got bullied by Preston when he came on recently?sammy391 said:

Bench could be a bit interesting on Saturday with all the injuries there. Hopefully that's not Godden done for season now alas I fear it is.3

Several questions.
Why do we persist with trying Bell at Left Wing Back? Every time he does he gets injured
Why can't his replacement play more than an hour? Chambers has been here for 3 months now, surely he should be fit enough to play a full game?
Why take Kelman off when we concede the penalty, when his pressing was actually helping us?
Why can't Jones win a header in the past 3 games?
Why can't we score more than 1 a game?
Why was the ref so fucking shit?
Why must we draw this suffering out as long as possible?
Why can't we have played like that (for the most part) against Sheffield Wednesday and be home and hosed by now?16 -

Absolute pleasure meeting @Siv_in_Norfolk and honour to spend the evening in the vista lounge with him. Absolutely love the first 35 mins. Best football we've played since October. Let's not chat about the 2nd half!8

Charlton played well against a side who were in the Premier last season and will return at the end of this season. The injuries to Bell and Campbell changed the nature of the game, once Campbell is off, it allows their full backs to come forward, once Amari Bell is off Gillie is exposed to pace and movement. The first twenty minutes of the second half showed exactly that, we had no out ball and Gillie gets caught out, a flaying arm, penalty and we are chasing the game. Couldn't fault Charlton for effort and there were some very good performances from, Jones, Sichenje, Docherty, Coventry and Kaminski but lose two of our best players and we will certainly struggle, we are exposed at the back and we end up hitting long ball into the box.16
