Unsurprisingly the better-ground horses, Ask Brewster and Magna Sam, are also non-runners.

Our Power now a NR - down to 17

    Chasingouttheblues now co-fav at 4/1.
Isaac & Montregard both now 15/2
    Git Maker into 12s

Added a wee touch of spice with a Bet Builder - first 3 any perm: Chasingouttheblues, Isaac & Git Maker at 100/1

    Might only have 3 finishers!!

    Bad luck @Addick Addict
I had a nibble on All In You.
Hope that's not symptomatic of our fortunes this pm.

Indeed. Came 5th but only then because of the two fallers. Never really travelling that well.

    6 finish

    Kap Vert wins it

    2 Git Maker
    3 Kim Roque
    4 Isaac Des Obeaux
    5 Chasingouttheblues
    6 Promontory

Thought we'd nick the April National hat trick but both Git Maker and Isaac made horrible mistakes.
Can't complain with 3 of the first 5.

Well done once again PM. I am an old school "seconder" but have surpassed myself today in having two horses E/W, first four places, with both finishing first loser in fifth place!!!

I think I have them all except the winner.. Gah, I thought to add Kap Vert but then thought I've too many already. The usual.

edit: yes, confirmed 2-5 I have.

I'm very familiar with the Law of Sod, believe me.
    All the best.

    Bad luck @Starrynight
A worthy winner but Kap Vert wasn't on my shortlist I have to say. Take him out and I'd have had a 100/1 4-way Bet-builder come up. AGHH!
Git Maker probably should have won it but for that mistake down the back.
Still can't complain - had some nice returns this spring. See if we can finish it off with the Bet365 winner next week.
Looks like the weights shouldn't go up too much and had a nibble of Transmission at 33/1 e/w antepost.
If he runs, I think he can reverse Sussex National positions with current fav Havaila over the stiffer test. Strikes me a Whitbread type.
Isaac & Git Maker just franked the form of the Midlands National, in which Rock My Way split them off next Saturday's mark.
He was 12L 2nd to Transmission in the Edinburgh National but, on current marks, could be of interest as well at 16s.
Will have a good trawl through nearer to decs.

I wonder if Ask Brewster will run since he didn't today. Anyhow, I'm going to tavel and won't be able to control bets coming week, so maybe I'll add some just before Sandown.

    Cheers @StarryNight
Many thanks for your contributions to the thread, which are always interesting and, with those of everyone else, go to make the whole thing very enjoyable.
It's nice that the thread always has positive contributions along with different points of view, with none of the dissing of other people's fancies and ideas, no matter how "wild". It's the wild theories that's part of what makes the whole thing fun, even if they don't pay off financially. I really enjoyed watching Top Of The Bill up with the leaders, loving it for 3/4 of the race (as confirmed again yesterday, his sire Fame And Glory really seems to be a stopper over a marathon trip, however promising the damside - that's now 10 of his offspring RPR-rated >133 have attempted 31.5f+, none making the frame!).
Well done again on last weekend's brilliant result and have a great summer.
    All the best.

Firstly I am not a big 'gambler' I sometimes throughout the season have a few £1.00 accumulators on the football just for a bit of interest. BUT

for the last four years I have followed your formula and this is the only big bet I have every year, with around £100 invested in your suggestions. And have had at least double that returned. Thank you for all the hard work and effort you put into your model and a big thank you for being so kind as to share your immeasurable knowledge.

Ps with some of my national winnings I decided to have a little nibble on your suggestions for the Scottish national. 3 bets and 3 wins 😁

    Much appreciate your kind comments.
Absolutely delighted they've done the business for you over the 4 years (some years hot, some years not, as you know) and that the picks yesterday paid off.
The model is unique to the Aintree GN, as you're no doubt aware, so when I put up tips for other races they're less systematic and more speculative. The forecast going was a big help yesterday, as the good ground was at Cheltenham. Decisive going has probably helped it be a good few months with the winners and near-missers in the long-distance handicaps.
It will probably come to a shuddering halt with next Saturday's Bet365. I can't recall ever having the winner of that but will certainly have a stab - there's a first time for everything!
    Thanks again.
    All the best.

Seven mentioned the same two horses, if you both are in agreement then that's a good sign!

Glad I nabbed the 33s for Transmission. 16s top price now.
To slow to back Rock My Way, now 12s, but still offers some e/w value.
Would like a 3rd and am inclined to Ask Brewster but Montregard continues to nag at me.
Too short to add both - a bit more mulling to be done.

    ROCK MY WAY - 12/1 e/w
    TRANSMISSION - 33/1 e/w (now 16/1)

A few small Bet Builder Top 5 Finish permutations added to my 3 main Bet365 GC interests tomorrow, involving those 3 and 33/1 shot Certainly Red.
3rd run in this race (4th 3.5L the last time 2 years ago), he may be a 12 yo and unlikely to win but he loves the track and a sound surface (1 win and 2 places in 3 chases at Sandown on Good).
In fact, only once out of the frame (3 wins) in 7 runs at 20~28.5f on Good ground.
I shall take a result vs Hull as a sure sign that he'll run a blinder.

The Bet365 may lack the absolute stars that on occasions graced the Whitbread (the likes of Arkle and Desert Orchid) but it's been a cracker of a race in recent years and, despite just 14 runners, tomorrow promises more of the same.
    Enjoy!

    COME ON YOU REDS!!

Ask Brewster (on the nose) replaces Montregard in my team of 3, along with e/w interests in Transmission and Rock My Way.
