Did think at the time that Kaminski has obviously had some dance training.

His pliéétendrereleverglisser into a sauter, élancer, and tourner were top notch.

Why didn't one you bastards in the lower not chuck a bouquet at him at least.  I gave him a 9!
My daughter shared a vid of his warmups with her non-football fan book group and they were all intrigued by his moves

What a fantastic win. Today feels almost as good as winning promotion did 12 months ago.
The sun is shining and we’re a Championship club.

We stayed up and somehow managed not to win the must-win games, @Braziliance.

Start a pot for language and linguistics? Or was it all part of the plan!
I mean, we beat Oxford, West Brom, Leicester, Sheff Wednesday & Blackburn all once, took 4 points from all bar one across the two home and away fixtures.

I would say those were must win games as without those points we would have got relegated this season.

Pompey both times, Sheff Wednesday away and Blackburn away were still disasters, but, we made up ground with wins against Birmingham, Boro and Hull.

You wouldn't see those as must wins when you now look at the table?
  • Anyone see what kind of injury Collins had? Hope he’s just getting up to speed and not injury prone

He's coming back from an injury and Jones pushes the physical side of things, its not automatically concerning for me. A good pre season to build up to the levels of the Championship and hopefully he'll be right as rain.

Beautiful behind the scenes footage from the Battleship as it sails back along the Thames, off on another journey

Surely the heads should be the other way around?
My childish sense of humour thought it would be funny having Nathan in front
If that is the best AI can do, what is the fuss about?

A great day with my family... it was truly a wonderful day. Kelmans goal was probably one of the finest I've seen in 50 years but I have to say I thought Docherty was immense.

Like many the last few weeks have been a nerve wracking experience irrespective of being over 60...but wow what a way to get over the line.

Nathan has produced miracles and deserves the plaudits.... To never have been in the bottom 3 is outstanding.

If the Owners were there yesterday then let's hope they realise you're not going to have an easy time progressing in the Championship on a few quid.

A word on Charlie Kelman and echoed earlier by another lifer.. We need a midfield player that can thread a ball through the eye of a needle....find that and Kelman will double his tally. In addition and nobody has mentioned it but Godden deserves another year with us ahead of any other decisions to be made... We wouldn't be here without him.. Period.

A final word to say how wonderful it was to see Fanny F yesterday after many years, it really made my day as its been a long time since I've been to a home game due to illness.

I love this Club, it's in our soul and we all feel the highs and lows in the same way ...

But yesterday was one of the best.

    Thank you Charlton.

Great post….feel the same….living in the USA it’s tough but managed to get to 3 games this season …used to work on the pitch in my summer hols as a 16 yo with Maurice Banham in my 60s now but still love this club…COYA

Did anyone recognise the Hull member of staff who made a point of clapping the covered end at the end of the game, I didn't recognise him but it was a classy thing to do.
Better than McBurnie who after fouling Kaminski in the run up to their goal started gesturing to THE Covered End and East Stand.

Just watched the highlights and for me that was absolutely pathetic from Kaminski for their goal. Yes there was a slight tug on his shirt but not enough for him to flap as he did and go to ground like that. I’m not even sure that would have been overturned by VAR.
He was being pulled back and it prevented him from moving freely. Nothing pathetic about it.
There was another cross that Kaminski had and McBurnie did a nasty foul on him knowing he could not get the ball. I think the ref had a decent game but didn't understand the fouls that dirty shits make in a game.

Thought the ref was up there with the best Ive seen at The Valley this season but did think McBurnie shouldve been booked at this point, if not sooner, especially when the ref called him back because he was still arguing

It’s on Richard Cawley and Louis Mendez’s post match podcast bit you’ll need to subscribe to Richard Cawley’s Substack to hear it.
  • Just read in the Sunday Mirror that Hull City have failed to win their last away game for 19 consecutive seasons.

Glad I didn't know that before the game yesterday :o .

We got to the ground earlier than usual and were struck by an almost carnival atmosphere in the warm sunshine. Perhaps it helped to ease the tension of the occasion.

Happily, the team didn’t let us down and produced one of their best performances for some time. We dominated the first half and scored a fabulous goal but still managed to go in on level terms after Clarke conceded an unnecessary corner.

Hull came out more aggressively after half time and that first 15 or 20 minutes were worrying, albeit they didn’t create any clear cut openings. Thankfully, things settled down and Fevrier produced a piece of magic to put us back in front. After that, I thought we managed the game well and Hull ran out of ideas, pumping a succession of long balls into our box, which were meat and drink for our back three.

A well deserved three points to finally cast aside our relegation fears. It was a fine all round team performance, with Doc, Coady and Knibbs all excelling in midfield, with outstanding turns from Fevrier and Kelman. Great credit also to Nathan and his staff for adopting a markedly different tactical approach to the ‘long ball’/target man strategy we’ve seen so often this season. Hopefully a portent of what’s to come in the future.

A great day all round, polished off with several cleansing ales down at The River Ale House. More fun and celebration to follow tonight in the homage to Lennie Lawrence and a number of the players from his era who served us so well.

Did any else celebrate safety by buying a 1-6 travel card?
I wrote down a couple of train numbers I didn’t already have.

I think that lack of a booking was the one mistake the ref made yesterday.

A good day for the maligned as well. Kaminski was brilliantly commanding in a game where Hull tried to get something off hanging the ball up over the keeper.
Apart from when he chose to throw himself to the ground in order to con the referee, leaving a wide open goal and gifting Hull an equaliser.
There’s no way a sideways pull on your shirt makes you fall downwards.

The Hull manager was suspended,  so Holden was in charge in the dugout today. Quite nice timing for him, and while he would have wanted the win, I'm sure he's delighted we stayed up.
He was meant to be but the manager was definitely in the dug out
Well sat on the cooler on the corner of the technical area most of the game.
