Pubs, and the demise of.

The Fox in Keston had a fire last night, although it appears to have started on the first floor and gone upwards.

The lease on the Old Mill in Plumstead is up for sale. Don’t know if that means it’ll be turned into flats or not. 

I think the Queen Vic in Walford and the Rovers Return in Weatherfield might both be facing closure in view of how many drinks they give away. They’re “On the House” in practically every episode.

That always had the potential to be such a great pub. It's a great looking monster of a pub from the outside.

As I used to live nearby for 20 years, went to school on Maze Hill, worked just off Maze Hill and have frequented The Vanbrugh and it's previous guises. I know exactly where it is and it's not right next to Maze Hill station which is the point I'm making. 

I suppose if you live/lived there, went to school there and worked there, you have a different view of the area known as Maze Hill.

A bit like on the news where they refer to Brockley as Lewisham.

It's 100 metres from the end of the platform. I'd say that was pretty close.

Its not close to Maze Hill which is at the London end of Maze Hill station but it is close to Vanbrugh Hill which is not far from the Kent end of Maze Hill station

Worked around there for years. Always had the best pint of pride - they sold so much it was practically a new keg every day. It was always fresh.

Find it very hard to believe that that particular location in greenwich isn't commercially viable for the incumbent. Maybe it falls below their target rate of profit/ revenue.

Also I think the murkydepths report is reaching a little for shock value. There is some way to go yet in terms of what can happen at the site even if Belushi's owner's close the current incarnation that is a 90s style bar/pub. A convenience store there would be the last thing I could image, but sure it may have been was mentioned in an earlier application as Murkeydepths states, but doesn't mean that is what it will become. But at least that report should trigger others more local than some of us, to take an interest!
