Could do with getting Beddingham out. He’s raced to 51* from just 36 balls. 121/4

    Keep the faith .

Looks like Stokes didn't fancy facing our rampant boys so "suggested"  Robinson moved up the order ....

Parky and Muyeye bowling to boost the over rate means we have lost that little grip we had earlier in the innings.

    173~5 [41.3].

    Off because of bad light.

Not been following, so hadn't realised that Ben McKinney was subbed off, hence Rhodes batting instead.

That little spell of Muyeye and Parky was because of the light. I understand the umpires told Kent that if they brought the seamers back at that point, they would have to go off. The light improved a little after about 6 overs, enabling Milnes etc to have another go.
The over rate has been poor by both teams, but other than that it was a good day for Kent.

    Hmmm.

Thinking BS might have deployed the "JJ method" of ensuring play was delayed/cancelled even.....He REALLY hasn't enjoyed his latest visit to Kent thus far!

Remember that a few seasons ago, Addicks ?

Yet another delay. Further inspection at 3pm.
It must have been very localised heavy rain.

When we left the ground at about 5.45 yesterday it was just spitting with rain, and we have had some light showers overnight here in Farnborough, but my back lawn is perfectly playable.

Glorious weather but no cricket. Water got under the covers and there’s a damp patch right on a length. @TimesSport pic.twitter.com/fwdW5AwMt4

    Some explanation

Bet this wouldn't have been the case at Canterbury.

Makes me wonder if the choice of a home 4 dayer elsewhere was sensible....

Really unhappy with this current situation & expect the home dressing room is a gloomy one.  :(

This is so poor. All the other CC games are seeing plenty of cricket this afternoon, and that should be the case at Beckenham, but allowing rain to get in under the covers has jeopardised the result, and will have significantly reduced takings. Shambles.

Plenty of red ball games take place there though, youth games, touring parties etc, it's not a "park" setup with an amateur groundsman.

When Surrey play women's games there they provide additional ground staff.

There is a slope which probably caused the problem with the covers.

Getting Tunbridge Wells back up to county standard should be speeded up.
