Great toss to win2

Bit of good news is that had he reviewed we would of lost a review. Umpire and Bethell got it right.1
-
Think Bethell is gone. Question is whether that is LBW or caught.0

Correct so farblackpool72 said:Bethell hasn't played a Red ball game since January and his form in the IPL was pretty average at best.
Id be amazed if he gets a decent score in this Test.1 -
33-3
Bethell lbw0 -
Absolutely plumb. Double sound was hitting the two pads0

33 for 3. Seems we have picked up where we left off

Umpire needs to go specsavers1
-
The thing is the bounce is so low, NZ are aiming at the stumps and getting their reward.
We can only hope that England also decide to bowl at the stumps (a novel idea I know).2 -

Root caught behind for 1. Good bit of bounce. 34 for 10
-
Normal service resumes it seems0
-
And NZ have made the very most of that and the conditions. This has a bit of a feel of Auckland 2018 when we were bowled out for 58 by Boult and Southee.Addick Addict said:Great toss to win0 -
The weather might not be the only concern if you have tickets for day four or even three for that matter.0
-
All this happening without Henry needing to be out there1
-
Strangely according to the stats only 6 balls in these 14 overs were projected to hit the stumps. We lose 2 wickets to two of those six ballsCovered End said:The thing is the bounce is so low, NZ are aiming at the stumps and getting their reward.

Dropped catch. Should of been caught. Brook survives.0

What the hell was Smith doing there!!!!0
-
You won't see many worse "leaves" than that. It was straight and relatively full.0

Were the TMS comms right in saying he left a ball that bowled him? That’s brainless battingAddick Addict said:What the hell was Smith doing there!!!!0 -

To be fair it did come back but it was far too straight to leave. I think he misjudged both line and length.fenaddick said:

Advertising boards strike again. Not even a nice game of cricket can stop the capitalist machine1

Apart from maybe Smith, none of these have been poor dismissals, just really good bowling1
-
Conditions are perfect for bowling. O'Rourke being so tall can get a bit of bounce plus he is quite rapid. Good balls with a bit of movement.Rothko said:Apart from maybe Smith, none of these have been poor dismissals, just really good bowling0 -
Always liked New Zealand, for me they have overtaken the west indies (who have lost their way for quite some time now) as my second favourite team.
Small selection of players but have for a while now been very consistent and competitive. We've had some really good battles against NZ recently, to the point I would of wanted a 5 test series as I wanted against them before but instead it's another 3 match series.6 -
Captain Stokes edges to Kane Williamson with a great sharp catch. Gone for 12.0
-
Fantastic one-handed catch by Williamson at slip to dismiss Stokes for 12 (23)
94-6 (26.5)
Brook 43* (51)1
