Now that we only have them four down, it might be a good idea to ask you who England should have played against in a warm up match before this series.golfaddick said:Brook gone. 8 down. 30 mins until tea - which maybe earlier as NZ could be in soon & so taken at change of innings ?
And people will keep telling me its got nothing to do with not having a warm up game. If not, then we should have them 5 down before the close.
Who should we have pulled the England squad out of championship matches and played them against? Or would you prefer that it were an "internal" match, between squad players, as they demonstrated so well before the Ashes series?1 -
Lucky to be at Lord’s today! Memorable stuff!3

Mitchell copies Smith and leaves one that comes back on him0

Crazy to leave so early. They'll miss the start of the New Zealand second innings...BerkshireBob said:

It's ok. I'm just cooking some humble pie to have with my dinner...🥧fenaddick said:Turns out facing the Ireland bowling attack is very different to the England one, who knew

Play can go on to 7.30pm tonight. They are supposedly allowed to bowl 85 overs today but I dont think going to happen seeing as we've only played 56 overs so far today.BerkshireBob said:

Us and New Zealand are so well matched0

Perfect conditions for Robinson's return.
Grim for the MCC finances though. And Test Cricket as a creditable sport.0 -
6 down at close, not 5. Golfie wins again.golfaddick said:Brook gone. 8 down. 30 mins until tea - which maybe earlier as NZ could be in soon & so taken at change of innings ?

Anyone offering international cricketers a course in how and when not to leave a cricket ball will be inundated.3

The remarkable aspect of the NZ innings is that, despite the conditions, not one of them has been caught behind the stumps - 4 bowled, 3 LBW and 1 caught at short leg. If only they could use the bat for which it was intended.1
-
O'Rourke has 18 runs in 19 career Test innings and a top score of 5*0

This is garbage from Robinson0

There you have it folks.blackpool72 said:I just hope that when it's England's turn to bowl that we bowl a full length and target the stumps.
This is basically what New Zealand have done and the wicket has rewarded them.
None of this short pitched crap please England.
Absolute proof the England team reads Charlton life.1 -
The irony that playing full Bazball is the best approach on this wicket is mildly amusing6

Fantastic captaincy there0

That's more like it. O'Rourke caught at slip for 1 off ArkinsonAddick Addict said:O'Rourke has 18 runs in 19 career Test innings and a top score of 5*0 -
The "injured" Henry comes to the crease. He won't die wondering.0

More proof that Bazball is the way forward here0
