Spurs have just finally confirmed the signing of Andy Robertson on a free.
Pretty happy with that, a proper leader in the group at last.

Surprised that Palace still haven't announced / found a new Manager after Glasner announced his own departure.
Maybe Iraola going to Liverpool has scuppered things for them
But having a neutral view point, they surely need to get a move on and find someone?

Sounds like they’ve basically done everything but announce Pierre Sage as their new manager

Hope I’m wrong but think we may see all 3 promoted sides come back down

My french mate Dids (he's actually a Fulham ST holder) is so pissed off right now.  Lens is his childhood French team and Sage is likely off, and Marco Silva's gone walkies too.

He really appreciated my message when I sent him this tweet.

Anyway, he really rates Sage and has been banging on about him for what seems like forever.

I don't think you'll be far off with that.
I'd make Arsenal favourite by a country mile tbh.

Don't think Newcastle will be anywhere Europe. They're my pick for being dragged into a relegation battle

Of them European candidates, Newcastle is the one I'd be wary of.  What with PSR restrictions (or whatever the new coming of PSR is), they may need to sell.

There seems to be growing rumours Villa needs to sell and Arsenal are sniffing around Morgan Rodgers.

One for @JohnBoyUK, in 2014/15 Leicester finished the season on 41 pts, with a -9 goal difference, then went on the following season to win the title. Spurs finished last season on 41 pts, with a -9 goal difference.

Hark at you with your subtle flex about still being in the Prem.  ;)

I think relegation is a bit far fetched as i'm expecting the newly promoted clubs to fare pretty badly this year, but it's definitely a big summer for Newcastle's recruitment team.

They've already lost Gordon and there's a lot of noise that Hall and Tonali will go too, plus they've lost the experience of Trippier.

If you fancy wasting a large amount of time this game is great fun. Randomly generates a team and a season, you pick one player to build an XI and try to win 38 games

Well, I agree with him. I hate to say it but I think this will prove a great appointment for them, and they’ll be pushing for top six next season.

Newcastle have signed keeper Ewen Jaouen from Stade de Reims for around £18.5m.

Replacement for Pope or initially just the backup?

Who knows how the promoted teams will do. Sunderland caught everyone by surprise.

Everton have been told they must pay Burnley £35m over the impact of breaches of the Premier League's financial rules.

Does feel like that could open a massive can of worms over FFP/PSR and the various breaches by different clubs.

Maybe teams that could have won the title if Man City or Chelsea weren't financial doping will follow suit. The PL will bottle that though

106 million pound bid from City for Anderson.

Don't get me wrong, I really rate him, but that is a heavy transfer.

thats a ridiculous amount of money for someone that played in a team that finished 5th from bottom.

Really pleased with Senesi signing on a free.  He has looked so good for Bournemouth last couple of years.

Two freebies have instantly improved our squad.

Fully expecting Romero to be shipped out to the highest bidder asap.

Reminds me of their Kalvin Phillips signing.

He went from being a regular in the England midfield to someone who hardly played even at club level after signing for City. Not even sure where he is now.

Anderson is ten times the player Phillips has ever been.

Seems like the starting bid for any half decent young player these days is at least 70m. Brighton reportedly want 70m for Jan Paul van Hecke and West Ham are asking for 85m for Matheus Fernandes. Don't get me wrong he's a good player and i get you're buying the potential but 85m for a player who's been relegated in two consecutive seasons is crazy.

15 years ago, 80-85m got you Ronaldo or Bale, now it gets you a midfielder from West Ham who isn't even going to the world cup.

PSG totally fucked the transfer market when they bought Neymar.

I was amazed when Newcastle sold Anderson to Forest because of FFP; His potential was clear then and I thought sell other young players if needs must.

Do we know what percentage will Newcastle get from any sell on clause ?

City have bought (Semenyo comes from London) 3 English players this calendar year, suggesting a slight change of plan. Buying ready made (overpriced?) Premier League players, rather than ones from abroad who might take a bit of time to settle

City are hard to read because it could be they were doing everything they could for Pep’s last season

There is no sell on fee.

Anderson has benefitted immensely from the transfer to Forest because i don't think he'd have actually played that much at Newcastle. He would've obviously got some minutes but not regular starts when they've got Guimaraes and Tonali in his position.
