I wonder how tempted the top brass at ITV were to run adverts when they have these "hydration breaks"?
Not sure. It would present a v unfavourable comparison with the BBC coverage
    Argument for retaining license fee!

Can’t get away from the Scotland fan love in.

Watching baseball on TNT and loads of Scots are there. Singing please don’t take me home.
Commentators won’t shut up about them.

This game has been tasty as fuck. Way better match than the previous one, which I think wasn't that good despite being a 2-2

Yes been a good game, feels like a goal is coming but the longer it stays scoreless I think both sides will be ok with nil nil knowing they have Curacao to come.

For the first time in Decades the time difference works for us here in Australia -

    So far very good results:-

    Scotland winning
Australia winning + an excellent performance hitting Turkey on the counter - Popovich masterclass

Looking forward to England kicking off

It feels very modern this World Cup - incredible stadiums

Brilliant result for the Swedes. Tunisia be lucky to get a point in that group now.

Clinical from Sweden. 7 shots on target and 5 goals. Impressive.

    I'm calling it early.........

This will be the first 0-0 match.
I turned off at half-time thinking that.

Are you lot back home getting the same video feed as us emigrants?

I can’t be the only getting the hump at all the “supporters” seemingly more preoccupied with filming themselves at the game and showing how “passionate” they are rather than actually watching the bloody game. Feels like 70% or the people they cut to in the crowd have their phone in front of their face.

I can understand the urge to show off that you’re there, so by all means share a photo of you inside the stadium but surely, and especially after paying record ticket prices to get in, you’re there to watch the game not watch yourself on a screen while you pretend to watch the game.

I’m getting too old for this shit/game’s gone etc.
Totally agree. The shot of the Aussie screaming at his ‘phone after their second was awful.

If Morocco had some balls they could have won that game. Had so much of the ball but when they got to the edge of the Brazil box they just passed it around amongst themselves.

Overall the best game I've seen. Just wished Morocco had decided they could win it instead of being content with a point.

If Scotland win tonight they will get through their group. In fact anyone getting 2 points will probably get through.
2 points? I very much doubt it. There will be teams with 3 points not going through. 3 points with a zero GD should be enough. 3 points with -1 might be enough.

I shall be watching my first game of the WC this afternoon, Spain v Cabo Verde. Had half an eye on the opener on Thursday, but we were in a restaurant with a friend so were not giving it our full attention.

Would have watched Scotland, but we were away at a music festival over the weekend.

Other than England, Scotland and Portugal there are only three other group games I intend to watch. Just not feeling it ATM, hopefully when a few more big games are on the schedule it will kick in.

This is my concern as a Scotland fan. Winning a match at a World Cup after almost four decades was brilliant, but I fear winning by only one goal will come back to haunt us after what will be very, very tough matches against Morocco and Brazil.

I do wonder if the number of teams in the fourth slots in their groups who came through playoffs may mean there are fewer groups than usual with 1 team off the pace. So there may be fewer teams with 3 points and a positive goal difference than we're used to, and more teams in third with only 1 point. Which doesn't change 2 points being unlikely to be enough and 3 with a really bad GD being dicey, but it may be that the third-best team getting a win against the 4th gives them a fair chance of there being 4 worse sides in third place.

When England or Scotland play I would like them to get rid of all ‘pundits’ and all the usually cliché ridden punditry, and simply spend any downtime reading out one by one all the fans flags draped around the arena, names, locations, clubs…the lot.
A more immediate experience than hearing the same thing for the umpteenth time, as in ‘it wouldn’t be the World Cup without Brazil’, or ‘it isn’t a proper World Cup without Italy’.
C’mon, I know I’m not the only one who wants to know, especially the flags out of camera ‘earshot’.

Just watched the Sweden highlights. Some absolutely comical defending.

Interesting VAR error in the Sweden game, where automated VAR disallowed their 4th goal because the goalscorer was well offside, but missed the tiny deflection from Isak meaning the goalscorer was actually onside. Which was proven by the football equivalent of the snickometer.

I only saw the brief highlights, but it seem the Sweden bench appealed to the 4th official.
